Lmao you guys are talking about like Cyberpunk is just another random game coming out and GGG just delayed their game for shits an giggles. Trust me they want money as much as you do. But CP 2077 almost has a decade of hype surrounding it, surpasssing maybe even GTA. It makes perfect sense financially. They don't want to compete against that.
You may not give a crap about CP 2077 but A LOT of people do. They don't want their next league to DOA.

At last GGG commit Single player experience, only terrible direct trade (yes still in 2020) can put it into category "online".
I can bet even release moved for one month (January) will be released in Deep Alpha state like usual, cant expect anything else. Have fun with new release what is even more imbalanced and buggy then last one.

I'd argue CP is going to break all the sales records for a PC game. The closest I can see for hype in a game was RDR2... and that ended up selling 32 million copies.

That's a decision thinking about the players or about the money?
I'm not going to play cyberpunk so soon. But i'd like to play a new atlas expansion on christimas. Sad.

[Removed by Support]I have been in the gaming industry for 2 decades. I can tell you that while yes, people who play POE like hack and slash, that does not mean they do not like multiple genres. I would love to see you actually counter that argument. If you don't think large launches like CyberPunk will impact other games, across genres, I don't know what to tell you. However you are welcome to your opinion and perspective. All I am doing is giving mine.
Your opinion is objectively wrong, though. Your guild represents a tiny fraction, of a fraction, of another fraction of the playerbase.
People who play PoE love hack and slash games. The majority do. That's why they play. It's the minority who like other genres.
Now weep.
Feel free to prove it any time.
A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

Going to pretend this says:
"We're not only limiting our scope and actively avoiding feature creep, but we're also delaying 3.13 'till January to ensure the absolute best quality for our next league to show with actions and not only words that we're listening."
The translation of the post goes actually like this: Our next league will be crap, taking that into consideration we do not want to risk having the worst league launch in history which coincides with the launch of Cyberpunk, so we re backing off, hoping that people will play PoE after 1 month of Cyberpunk

This is so lame, like wow. You've folded under another game release because, you assessed that you will lose money. Lets be real here, and don't give us this bull.
If you cared about players convenience you would at least make stacked drops, like years ago.
Lame lame lame...
Actually, delaying probably costs them more average revenue than they would lose if they Released vs Cyberpunk .
Companies base everything on quarterly revenues, and as always, revenues are highest the run to up a league start when people are buying the new supporter packs.
So by delaying it a month, it delays those buys by a month. Pushing back all other revenue streams by a month.
So with that in mind, Id say this push back, while it may help them sell a little more on release, it'll hurt them more long term in the overall revenue picture.
Makes sense. So why tf are they postponing? For CP or more time to develop a league either way it's dumb or they are not telling the truth.
If they said, guys we need extra month to polish things, that would be ok. But no, they even say that they will use it for 3.14 , like wtf.
We all have most free time to play during the new year holidays so i guess i'll spend my money on CP instead on a supporter pack that i planned.
