Hey BaltazarDZ, thanks for that nice explanation!

My worry is one-shots/bursts. With the previous, Chieftain version my only problem was that every now and then I would die instantly, or so quickly that I have no time to react. Especially when I have a large number of mobs hitting me, eg. Blight encounter, or monsters from beyond spawning on me. I even started planning for a Kaom's Heart only because of that.

How do you think this one compares in that regard?

Same question for Wrecker. :)
Hey StormHUN!

This build is just as defensive as the Chieftain was. The damage mitigation of this build will be good in most regards and a lot less circumstantial. I know we differed on one-shots with last league's RF build as one-shots we're an issue for me with 3.11's guide. So for this version, just like the last one, this build won't want to stand still forever. Slowly move around avoiding threats and I think you'll be quite pleased with survivability. Getting one-shot can have SO many factors into it. So it's hard to get into detail. But if you give this build a shot, let me know what you think.

Really liked the Carry Me Golems build, but felt useless in my "group." What would the damage be like in this build?
Hey chodenode! The damage is going to be quite good in my opinion. You're looking at 350k DOT DPS without any gear.

I like your RF marauder build, i hate Cyclone :) Will this build use it too?
Hey Duelb0t!

I'm glad you liked the previous version! Cyclone has been removed from the build and our only active button is now Enduring Cry.

Hi Wrecker,

I got exited for new build as I want to use it from start but then got worried when it turn out to be Golems and RF... I will trust you on this one and I think I will use this as starter build. My only advantage is that I play on PS4 so will have a week to see what people will think about it.

Hope it will help me as I started your RF bit too late and Spellslinger ED Con Soulrend I used in Harvest got stuck in high red maps and I didn't manage to get trophy for clearing full Atlas. Hope this build will take me to the end...
Hey Suporex!

Haha! Thanks for the trust! Don't worry. The Elementalist is awesome for RF. I'm sure this build will take you through the whole Atlas for sure. Hopefully, I'll have the guide ready for you in time.

Since you're going witch, have you considered taking Zealot's Oath and making it an ES RF build?
Hey BobMathrotus!

I've played with the idea but it was too dependant on items. I couldn't find a way to make it solid on offence and defence with a careless playstyle.

Thanks for making this guide!

For those noobs among us, can you tell us approximately which directions we should be traveling on the skill tree as we level up, as well as the order of Elementalist skills we should get from each lab? Just very basic stuff would help immensely.
Hi cooltay105!

You're welcome! I hope you like it. I honestly just "hug the right" when I level. Just like when I map. There are some big important nodes for us...but they're all important. There isn't a wrong direction to go unless you only pick up damage nodes. Don't worry. It's not actually a big deal. (I'll have the guide finished in a few days.)

Thank you so much! Can you recommend an order for picking the Elementalist notables after labs as well?
Jackalope_Gaming: Thank you for explaining!

BaltazarDZ and Wrecker, thanks for your answers regarding one-shots. SO if I understand correctly, the Witch's weak point will be physical damage. Does that mean I should prefer Armor over Evasion this time? (And as before, ES for more RF damage but no defensive benefit.)

As for Cyclone, I liked it simply for letting me to phase through enemies, as without phasing they constantly bump into me before they die, which gets annoying. So I wonder, is there a good source of phasing that fits into this build and doesn't require constant button smashing like the phasing flask?

Also, no Cyclone means we can't benefit anymore (for EE) from non-fire ele dmg added to weapon/attacks?

Finally, Wrecker: We want the CwDT + Purifying Flame + Wave of conviction to go off less often than other elemental dmg to benefit from EE. So then, why still keep them at a lower level instead of going to 20 (and then20% and lvl 20 again)? Is it because math says that level gives an ideal interval of going off with CwDT?

Thanks everyone for your input, and also thank you very much Wrecker for making teh build in the first place!

At first I had mixed feelings seeing the build changed so much because I really loved the previous version, but now I'm excited about trying out something new!

Hi! Long time RF player here. You are heavily underestimating Flat Regeneration values and Golem buffs.

While the buffs don't add up per golem the effect of Ascendancy does. That means 200% Increased Golem buffs (or 230% counting tree) as you will have 4 golems. That is -
Stone Golem: ~380 Life regeneration. Translates to ~4.2% Life regen for 9k Life build and 9.5% Life regen for 4k Life build (early progression/leveling).
Chaos Golem: 14% Physical Damage reduction.
Flame Golem: 74% Increased Damage.

The +18% all elemental resist allows for more flexible gear than Chieftains +110% Fire resistance. Chieftain requires less resists on the gear however there are more options for Witch as Fire resistance isn't a dead stat if we are talking about efficiency.

Witch also has considerable amount of damage increases:
80% from 4 Summoned Golems.
40% Increased Elemental damage from Minor Nodes.
Pendulum alternates between AoE (clearing) and damage on equal cycle giving 37.5% Increased Elemental damage on average.

Additionally having over capped Elemental Ailment avoidance means you have to only worry about ground effects. This is especially relevant with Shock.

Overall Chieftain is more specialized and Witch is more all rounder. Neither are the most durable (Guardian) or fastest clearing (Trickster) ascendancies for RF. When comparing both, assuming a league start, Witch is more beginner friendly as well as you have easier access and can level with provided gems and have smoother transition to RF.
Awesome points BaltazarDZ!

I agree all around. I'm excited to explain it all and complete the guide. (I may steal your wording too ;).) Thanks for taking the time to be so thorough!

Aaaaagree :) I experimented on how gear would work for this, and once you can afford it, Primordial Eminence jewels skyrocket the life regeneration for this build. You can safely remove some life regen nodes and assorted things for more jewel sockets.
