3.11.2 Patch Notes

This update BROKE more stuff than it fixed, resulting in WORSE performance (HDD)
Can't see any difference in texture quality from the new compression algorithm. The ggpk file is a lot smaller though. It went from arounf 40GB to 24. That's something at least.

There is a tool to defrag the ggpk, thus it is not 40GB

It just they seem unzip the game and nothing really new

Never heard of that tool. They should have made it more prominent, it's pretty useful to save 15GB of SSD space.

They said the new texture compression algorithm would result in better looking textures. Maybe if you do a pixel to pixel comparison they may be a bit more sharp. Nothing easily apparent though.

I downloaded the tool for a while, but seem newer version has virus or malware code inserted.

macOS ETA?
I started playing POE in 2016 on a Win7-64, Core2Quad, 1GB GeForce 9600GT, 8GB RAM, multi HDD (all circa 2008) PC. It was all right at first but each POE version update made things slower and glitchier. By 2019 I was fighting bosses at <1fps.

This year I upgraded to Win10-64, Ryzen 7 8core, 4GB GeForceG 1650 super, 32GB RAM, multi SSD. And it was great; who knew the bosses did all those things?

But 3.11.2 has ruined that. Even white mobs appearing cause my FPS to drop to zero and I have to guess where they are, what abilities they’ve used, and where my character is at the moment. Doubleplus notgood :-(
