Yes, there is a standalone client from the main website. Upper right hand corner.

Nice to hear preload is being addressed. Having played on both SSD and non SSD system, the non SSD has atrocious load times, can reach up to 5-10 seconds zoning into a map. SSD system loads practically instantly.

Any info on whether sound performance is being addressed? I only have dialogue and loot filter sound enable as having sound effect (not even music or ambient music),as just like cutedog brought up, when you enablebsound on POE, the performance hit rock bottom.

Yes Linux please. Even if the game currently working great under wine/proton thanks to vulkan, the barrier to make a native port is almost none.
