While I am sure Jeff and his team are trying their best we still get the crashes and blue screens with no apparent improvement. I can only speak for myself but Harvest was a lot worse for me in terms of blue screens that any previous league I have played on a ps4 /sigh.
I didn't stop playing the league because I was bored of the league I stopped because I was frustrated with crashes. Not good.
I hope that when we get some official next gen console launch dates that GGG will in turn be a bit more open with their next gen plans too.
I've been playing PoE on PC since 2013-14 off and on and been playing the PS4 port since launch. I play the PS4 because my good buddy likes to play with me and I help him out. I'm no expert but I do think playing both versions gives me a tiny bit of insight and an opinion on both according to my own tastes.
Just get a PC! You have NO idea if next gen will have the same issues.
(Is this game coming to next gen?)
I LOVE consoles so PLEASE don't think I am PC fan boying it up but listen:
The Trade community is a million times better, Steam players and Non-Steam players are on the same servers, the player count is vastly larger and the PC is way more user friendly. Check out the automated PC trade markets search function on the forum or head to http://Poe.trade and look at the difference in numbers and prices.
The games mechanics, along with the mass of spawns that pop at you along with effects are all made with the PC in mind and for whatever reason, this was never toned down a bit to for PS4's hardware to handle it.
We get drastic FPS drops, insta deaths from "lag" that even highest speeds couldn't accommodate nor fix as decent "gaming" rigs (that cost the same or even less than a PS4) don't seem to have these issues.
Look, you shouldn't have to wait for a next gen console to properly play what was once an indie title released in 2013 that hardly needed a serious rig to play in the first place!
The game has since revamped to a much friendlier, more PC compatible engine but console players will still get their average 3 bluescreens every 4 hours or so.
Mapping you say? You better bring that average to every 5 maps...

Those of us who purchased stash tabs and what not on PS4 are fucking locked to the PS4 or we would have to repurchase everything if we decided to finally get a PC. Really sucks and honestly it's BS, if we bought something on one console we should be able to use it on whatever platform, I'm sure there could be a way to prove that it's the same user. But doing it like this locks us to one platform.

No I dont want to PC game, I hate M+K and would prefer a controller and a couch. I have the money to play as I choose, and its NOT on PC. I spend enough of my work day on one...

Fixed a bug where some Zana mission variations weren't offered as options. The "Single Portal" variation will remain permanently disabled and will not be offered as an option.
RIP this league, we don't have 1 portal Zana missions, to make a whole league with 1 portal mechanic is a huge FU to the console community IMO.

See, I came from PC over to PS4 and was upset when launch was delayed. I was looking forward to the port and already knew how much I was going to need to spend for QoL tabs, think I spent maybe a total of 30$ on PC when premium stash tabs went on sale and I got a currency tab too. Since 2014, I spent about 30$
I think I may have spent 25$ total on PS4. I almost, ALMOST bought a map tab but I kept crashing in uber lab 4 fucking times in a row (today, after the patch mind you) and figured they can go fuck themselves.
I understand you're "Locked in" but how many 60$ games have you bought and never played again?
IDK man, it's like pumping money into a shit car that hardly works and refusing to buy a new one, even if that new one can be completely enjoyed for around 25$ and will make you much happier.
This crashing is a hardware issue or it would have been fixed by now which means it's prolly never going to be fixed, and I seriously, SERIOUSLY doubt that when PoE gets ported to 5, all your mtx won't transfer with it, especially if it's on a different server from ps4 players. Why do I think this? Because every other port is it's own contained universe. Even Xbox which is Microsoft and has the ability to have cross platform doesn't share the same servers and it's not because of Steam, you can d/l the game from this site and play with others who ARE using PoE thru Steam.
So, when 5 kicks in, wanna going to do?

Kinda like the guy who refuses to have sex with his wife because he's a gynecologist.
"Oh god honey, I have to stare at those all day..."
I'm sure you kneejerked so fast at my "Get A PC" comment you prolly didn't read what I posted. I play this game on BOTH PC AND CONSOLE and right now, the console port ain't really working and hasn't since launch.
Believe me when I say this, it bums me the FUCK out that it crashes, that it hardly works, that it's player base is shrinking which pretty much is killing trading. This is why there is no gold in the game by the way, they wanted something that will engage players to barter and trading has been a HUGE focus on the game since day one. This is why the "currency" can also be used for crafting. Huge docu-video-thing online with the devs explaining this back in the day but I am getting off point.
This game is broken, has been since launch and its most likely a hardware issue. All these things you see that's making you comment "Big FU to this League" is all because this port has had nothing but hardcore issues for almost 2 years and it's not changing. Obviously you like this game, it's just too bad you're forcing yourself to play an inferior version.
Shit ain't changing and since they are focusing on PoE2, skeleton crew will be left making "software fixes"
In fact I am willing to bet that Star Citizen 1.0 AND the next book of the Song Of Ice and Fire will be released before this game will be fixed.
Call me old fashion but I too have the money to play games the way I choose to, I just choose the better version once I realize I got fucked by the other. I get it, you dislike KB/m but that one setback is closing you off to a much superior game.
Believe it or not, I love my PS4 and PC equally and I am not trying to PC "Master Race", just pointing out that the PC version is the better one out of the three.

Well spoken bro and most realistic post I read. I been playing since day 1 on ps4 and plan on getting a PC end of the year to play Poe on PC. I'll also more than likely play on ps5 too.
Another thing people seem to not realize is the fact that architecture and coding PoE is built on is very outdated. Ps5 wont fix the issue...... PoE2 will.
I'd go as far as saying poe2 on ps4 would play better than poe1 on ps5.

Yo folks. You can reduce dramatically the crashes if play without sound
Yeah, nothing feels better than NOT hearing that much needed item drop off screen somewhere...
I don't know how having the sound turned down in the options does anything.
As far as the software goes, it's still telling the machine to "produce sound", it's not like the code is no longer there.
These crashes are a hardware issue and it's not going away any time soon.

Getting a PC doesn’t solve my issue of needing a controller for accessibility. Back when I didn’t need it I played several thousand hours on PC. Now I need controller compatibility for it to be playable, so I’ve jumped over to console. It’s unfortunate that this league has been the most unstable one yet, more so than Synthesis or Legion ever were.

Is that a PS4 issue?
Never had a crash on my xbox one x.

There's a Twitch Streamer who plays PoE with a controller on PC (for similar reasons). He has a guide for how to set it up.
https://www.twitch.tv/sefearion
And type !controller in chat (if he hasn't changed the command).
