What's the best skill to put on The Vertex? ED if I don't have Delirium gloves, Contagion if I do?

Yeah more or less. I skipped the +2/30% dot gloves today and went for Hunter Gloves with 16% dot multi, decent ES and avoid elemental ailments, because I didnt have room on my bodyarmor :)

I was testing a bit without glancing blows yestoday and the mitigation felt waaaaaaaaaaay better.
I was able to do it because I could go elemental ailment immune, so I could buy a Rumi's Concoction with 20/10 block leaving me at:
66% block attack / 74% block projectile attack and 50% spellblock with flasks.

The mitigation without flasks actually also felt better.

Here's a picture of my passive tree right now

Thanks for the update! I have started using this guide, though I deviated a bit from level 35ish to 50 (where I am now) since I read you had concerns about it. Good to see that those can be addressed, I've wanted to pull of a CI build for a while now but I always end up feeling waaaay too squishy. My micro isn't great and I tend to get hit a lot.

FWIW I've found leveling with Bane to be fairly friendly, though I still pull out ED+C for larger/more spread out packs. Does Area of Effect help with ED+C or is that mostly just nice-to-have/QoL? I took some nodes around that but I can respec later if it's better to focus on other things.
Try using spellslinger ED and spellslinger soul rend (prioritize high links on soul rend).

That felt great to me when I tested it... I just didnt have time to edit the guide!

Just selfcast contagion (and then you can also link it with increased aoe stuff).

but tbh. Soul rend cleared so good, that i didnt realy selfcast contagion untill maps... So I was just using Soul Rend for clear and ED to help with a bit of boss dps.

Hey OP. Minor issue, I've been using your build as a league starter and loving it, however in the leveling tree PoBs you show Ghost Dance for the first Lab, then on the next few tree's you show as having taken Patient Reaper and Prolonged Pain.

Hey Hasunic, ty for the update.

Just some food for thoughts concerning Glancing blow and it's opportunity cost. With the 65% damage taken, it's clear that your overall mitigation is lessen by taking glancing blow. If you can reach above half of max block without it, then GB becomes even worst. The most mitigation will naturally be max block without GB, so of course if you invest enough towards reaching that point you'll feel better.

Now all of this has opportunity costs: Maxblock/2 + GB costs less in terms of investment: one affix on on the shield, 5 passive points and a flask (and permanent uptime).
With 5 passives you can grab Foresight and some more ES to offset the damage going through with GB.
Also since you are not at max block right now even with flasks up, you are a bit more prone to one shots even though the mitigation feels smoother overall. One shots are my biggest fear in heists.

So I hear you out that it feels better without glancing blow, but do you agree that GB is the better choice for early-mid state of investments? I think you are right at the treshold where GB becomes questionable.
Hah, good to know! Spent some time with SpellSlinger and Soul Rend and it was definitely smoother than ED with the faster projectile and more forgiving aim. Thanks for the tips!

As far as the tree goes, is it OK to go for some of the energy shield nodes (e.g. Unnatural Calm) before CI to reduce respeccing, or would you really recommend focusing on more Life ahead of that?

I actually never felt like GB gave me anything this time around.

I felt like my life was pingponging to much and that I couldnt even facetank any bosses with it. It was very annoying, and thats why I wanted to see which other options I had with CI.

Having tested this, I would actually recommend speccing into acro + phase acro until you swap for CI. I never realy felt like glancing blows helped me a lot this league, and I think that the 50% -> 65% was too much for glancing blows to be worth

(You take 30% More damage per blocked hit than before!!!)

This is probably a level 82 tree that I could recommend, and I am changing the direction of the leveling on the guide from now on.
There's no reason to make things harder than it should be.

Without glancing blows - is it worth going all the way to Sanctuary?
Are you removing the glancing blows from the guide? Or making a new PoB? I am soon level 90 and going to respec to CI soon, thats why I am wondering.

Ty.
