[PoEParty.com] fast/safe/easy place for carries/guilds/aurabots/MF/Cullers/rotas/crafting services

Hello, Exiles!

Today, I'd like to introduce yet another way to buy/sell your in-game services which some of you may appreciate: https://poeparty.com

Finding reputable in-game service providers, certain players to fit a group-role (aurabots, for instance), and various other in-game objectives that revolve around interacting with other players haven't always been some of the easiest things to do.... This league (harvest) has generated a lot of new demand for things like this (harvest crafting services, in particular), which some other dedicated groups of players out there have tried to make a more streamlined solution for (shout out to forbiddenharvest - great work, guys!). We too have created a solution; though it takes a broader approach - covering a wide range of topics/categories - in attempting to solve the various in-game player interaction struggles we poe players have encountered.

This post will attempt to touch on the key-points for the site; while
this video - https://youtu.be/vrZdeyr7apE - will show you everything you'd need to know/do, in order to use the website.

SUMMARY:
Spoiler

1. poeparty makes finding players, services, events, and more EASY & FAST to do (instantly find who/what you want, using sort/search/filtering, built into various parts of the website)

2. poeparty makes player-interaction SAFER (using feedback, post-ratings, user-ratings, post/feedback manipulation prohibition, etc).

3. poeparty makes participation on the site SIMPLE & SAFE (no dependencies on things like discord, POESESSID, etc. (simply login via pathofexile.com account (GGG's offical OAuth service), using literally 2 clicks))

4. poeparty makes leaving feedback and vouching FAST & STRAIGHT FORWARD (feedback is as easy as leaving a comment and clicking submit; the vouching system is not complicated, either - just click the number of stars you want to leave for a post... done!)

5. poeparty aims to keep players ETHICAL (RMT-related activity is discouraged, and will be removed when/if players are found engaging in rmt-related activities)

CURRENT FEATURES:
Spoiler

1. the ability to instantly find services/groups/etc. of interest via search/filter options
Spoiler

The post filtering process is pretty straight forward...
- filter posts by in-game online status: toggle the "online" switch > click "Search" button

- filter posts by title using keywords: type keyword(s) in the "Search Title" box > click "Search" button (or hit ENTER)

- filter posts by author using keywords: type keyword(s) in the "Search Author" box > click "Search" button (or hit ENTER)

- filter posts by league of interest:type keyword(s) in the "Search Title" box > click "Search" button (or hit ENTER)

The post sorting process is also straight forward...
- sort by last updated column

- sort by title column

- sort by author column

- sort by rating column

- sort by # comments (feedback) column

- sorting can be used after applying search filters, as well, of course

2. the ability to gauge an author's credibility/legitimacy via feedback and rating-stats (overal post ratings; # of ratings; etc)
Spoiler

- ratings/feedback appear on a per-post basis

- ratings/feedback appear on an overall-user-basis, as well (which is visible on their profile pages)

3. safe-guards are in place to protect against scamming, post manipulation, etc
Spoiler

- users can only vouch for a post (star-rating) ONCE. this CAN be edited again later, if so desired

- built-in protection is present, to prevent fake feedback via armies of fake accounts vouching for a post which might otherwise be an attempt at some sort of scam

- having star-ratings for posts (and the user, as a whole) visible (basically anywhere their name shows up) means if someone did some how scam another poeparty user and receive 1-star rating(s) as a result... the scammer's lack of incoming whispers from that point on, due to this fact, will likely make them realize they're wasting their time attempting scams on poeparty (then presumably leave, to go back to the firey depths of global 820, from whence they came lol)

4. login using poe account - no discord (or POESESSID) dependency - via GGG's official OAuth service
Spoiler

- assuming you're already logged in on your pathofexile.com account in your browser, logging in is literally a 2 click process

- having a discord (or any non-pathofexile.com account, period) is NOT a requirement

- we will never ask for your password

- we will never ask for your POESESSID (giving this out is similar to handing over both your username & password, together - we will not have that kind of power, with your account, ever!)

5. in-game online/offline status of authors
Spoiler

- similar to online status for players, when browsing through trading wesbites, it is useful to know online status of an author on poeparty too. this is indicated as a green (online/afk) or grey (offline) dot, beside users' names

- reads from the API, so you must have at least one thing listed in a public premium-tab, to show as "online" on https://poeparty.com

6. the ability to find guilds, support builds, etc. via member searching
Spoiler

- pulls info from inputs in the "roles" field, on profile pages (visible when editing your profile)

- searching through these roles occurs on the "member search" tab

- can be useful for finding guilds (or guild members), support builds (aura/curse bots for instance), MFers/cullers, etc.

7. the ability to share your relevant, off-site poe content (youtube/twitch) site-wide, with ease
Spoiler

- profile page > paste twitch url

- profile page > paste youtube url

- these will appear beside your name, in the listings, to help players discover you and your helpful poe content

- these will appear on your profile pages as well (more info below)

8. the ability to conveniently share your profile (with ALL your services or other posts), with ease using a SINGLE link
Spoiler

- you can access someone's link (yours OR someone else's) by clicking a users name in the "author" column, of the table of posts

- you can access YOUR link using the share button while editing your https://www.poeparty.com/profile page (will copy your url to share, to clipboard)

- your profile page shows all of your listings (services and such, you'd like to sell, for example), their ratings, etc

- your profile page shows all of your roles (aurabot, guild-need status, etc)

- your profile page shows your overall user rating (your rating across all your posts)

- your profile page shows links to your additional content (twitch/youtube channels)

- your profile page's link can be shared easily, elsewhere (in-game party title (like thread numbers, for forum links), discord with your friends, or where ever else you want)

- here is an example of a sharable profile page link: https://www.poeparty.com/user/PoE_Party (just tacks "/user/[yourAccountName]" onto the site's url)

9. whisper buttons that mimic trading websites
Spoiler

- this allows you to contact users fast and easily

- this allows you to contact users in a way that almost 100% of players are already familiar with

10. pre-existing categories (tags) to choose from, when creating posts
Spoiler

- event listing tags (example: arbitrary events): primarily used in case users want to create their own "1 hour merveil races" (or whatever else they want) to compete against each other in, during the 'dead' period towards end of leagues (to keep things interesting for each other, during this phase). Pssst!... PVP is also a thing ;)

- individual listings tags (example: carry services): primarily used for buying/selling services or other activities that are not necessarily group-oriented (ie- a single individual is all that is required, for a lab carry listing to be completed, for instance)

- group/rota tags: primarily used for LFG/LFM purposes

- misc tags: primarily used for things not already specified in other tags

11. "hall of fame" sections
Spoiler

- these are meant to reward players who do a great job providing their listings to other players

- these are also meant to let viewers quickly snap to the listings that are most likely to accomplish what they're looking for (with no searching/sorting/filtering required)

- these quickly acknowledge the best listings on a per-page basis (home page, a tag/category's page (example: WTS Carry services page), etc)

FUTURE PLANS:
Spoiler

1. badges for players based on poeparty reputation, level of involvement, etc.

2. scam-alert system to help players watch out for specific known scams/scammers

3. more advanced searching/filtering

4. live alerts for posts/members of interest

5. considering a 'smart' rework of current tag system

6. more... :)

WRAP-UP:
Spoiler

So there you have it! Poeparty.com...

We hope it helps all ye' exiles out there, as much as possible!

To report any bugs, leave feedback/ideas/etc., or to contact us for any other reason that you'd like to, you may do so by...
Spoiler

1. email: support@poeparty.com (also used on the "contact us" page)

All of this said... thanks for hanging in there this far, if you have.

Till next time, Exiles...

why are you posting this with a new account and not your real one? (it just looks shady this way)

Reposting this is going to be a regular event?

The account is new, since we created it specifically for oauth-purposes (when users login on our site via ggg's oauth implementation, we wanted it to be super clear that when they were clicking "authenticate," that they were authenticating the correct service/account (the site is also called poeparty, so it made sense)).

here's what i mean:

See where it says poeparty circled in red? if that said "AngryMauraderGUY" (or some other random, player name), i feel like if i was a player, potentially confused about whats going on, on that screen (oauth has only started poppin up in poe-related tools in very recent years, from what i can tell); then that would be more likely to be a of a cause for concern to this potentially confused player, than like... not knowing what level me (or other project members') characters are or something like that

seemed a no brainer tbh. also, dont quote me on this (havnt bothered to check, for sure or anything (mainly bc i dont see the big deal, thus care enough to do so, personally)), but if i had to guess; other content creators like... idk, say poe.ninja/poedb.tw/etc's devs, probably arent going around telling everyone who their characters are, what gear they wear, how many challenges they got in what leagues, or whatever else someone might care about. u kno? its just... irrelevant to their project, so idk why they would go out of their way to do so or something. i personally dont see them as shady by any means; despite having literally no clue about their in-game characters' lives - i appreciate the work they (and others) have done, for years! thats all i care about lol.

literally never occurred to me or any of my team-mates that someone might think that creating an account dedicated to the project, doing things in its 'name' on the site's 'behalf' would come off as shady or whatever.

TLDR: oauth (clarity; no user confusion when clicking authorize) +++ didnt seem important.

thats all. "i dont mean to put out any negative vibrations or anything" xD lol.

anyways thanks for your response bud. hope that helps clarify some things

haha nope! duping this post wasnt part of the plan lol.

the first post i made had to be reviewed or something by ggg for some reason. it wasnt there when i went to bump it & i saw an unread forum-message; which ofc turned out to be the staff informing me of its removal.

TLDR: got the 'ok' of sorts, saying everything was good to go and that i could re-post it again, so figured... 'why not?' Now, here i am. thats all lol
You do understand that people are really hesitant to grant you access to their account info... right? You need to deal with that. Coming into a game forum asking for trust is really naïve.

Oh, for sure! The good thing about ggg's oauth implementation - the screen where users click the 'authorize' button - tho; is that WE dont gain access to ANY sensitive information, period.

Here is the only bit of information that we are able to get via users logging in via oath (example):
Spoiler
{
name: "example-name"
realm: "pc"
uuid: "d993020e-87fd-4dd0-a5d7-f34dff2fd15d"
}

Other than that, we use the users "name" field, to plug into ggg's public api's (such as the one used on trading sites), to get other components for the site, where applicable.

As you can see, the example above contains no sensitive information. Information gathered from that point on (ie- stash tab data, or something), is ofc public, as well.

Oauth is about the safest method for logging a user in, of all methods one might choose to implement.

*** POESESSID... THAT is a different story.
***Username and password - again - a different story.

THOSE things... yes, users would need to be concerned about what we do with that information, where/how we store that information, and who can steal it from us also (at that point). With any of those two things (login name/password & poesessid), a person could literally login to pathofexile.com as you. With oauth, ggg is like a middleman of sorts, handling the secure login process. GGG wouldnt give us any sensitive information; and for this reason, oauth exists. Its a better/safer way to allow tool developers to gain access to SOME information, vs. alternatives that devs have used over the years (ie- poesessid / login info).

Anyone who knows about these technical aspects would likely agree that logging in via Oauth is legitimately safe. We've had hundreds of users logging in over the last few weeks and i can literally guarantee you, that you have not (nor will you) hear of any of these people claiming that we compromised their account. How can i guarantee that? because its impossible.

Thanks for the response here and we hope this sets some minds at ease :)
Looks like a scummy scam to me
I wouldn't call it a scam... more of a skim. He's collecting data for some reason and people are really hesitant to give it to him. Rightfully so.
