It's basically pseudo-AOE, not more damage but spread out damage. You can scale chain with the helm enchant + alt quality storm brand instead probably.

Any chance u could update the talent path? its an old version, would love to see a new one.

Really satisfied with the build, overall. T16's being cleaned easily after grabbing the 6L and a few good gems, still lots of DPS and ES upgrades to chase (leveled Awakened Gems, cluster jewels, better helmet, better glove, better belt, better boots, better weapon, optimize the tree a little bit better, etc).

Recorded a quick video of a 4 watchstone Drox kill, just to measure the TTK compared to my friend's other builds. It's GOOD.

I'm pretty sure nothing changed so just let PoB update tree when it asks and good to go.

great awesome build. feels so much like my storm brand archmage.. tough to actually die

it does take a bit of a grind to get it going, before the acts become easy, that's the only other down side I can say about it

I've run into a wall of a lack of dps to kill stuff fast, vs the absolute punishing back breaking soul destroying rng and being in game broke

I've played POE since there were only 2 acts, it's always been the same

I've never been able to break though from always being chronically in-game poor. Be it lack of actual currency drops (50 heists and 50 maps done so far in Heist, no ex drop), or just pure crap rng.. my personal record from a couple leagues ago is 11 alch'd maps in a row with no map drops

I had reservations of picking a build so tied to high cost items, knowing I could run into not getting to fully buy into it. Hope springs eternal, and this league could be different.. it's also the definition of insanity

I lucked out into a 6 socket shav 3 days ago, 400+ fusing's in and not even a 5 link of it yet. Picking up the shav might have been the extent of the good luck for the league. I'm saving to just 1500 bench it now.. should take 2 weeks or so

even with all that.. great build, active play style without being "frantic button mashing", and being forgiving to be able to take a smack once in awhile and not get one-shot insta dead

one question - there is a post up above somewhere that not going templar can make the build be able to run reflects, which I miss from my witch.. is that an actual viable choice? would it have the same survive-ability?

You would lose a lot of phys mitigation and regen but it's a viable option.

Noticed a few things regarding cluster jewels:

1. Holy Conquest completely reworks how the brands work on AoE situations (especially with Swiftbrand). Stuff gets killed way faster, and you can easily ditch the 5th brand to spend points on other stuff.
2. I switched lots of big points into the appointed cluster jewels (large: spell, burden projection/practiced caster/thaumophage, medium: brand, brand loyalty/holy conquest/grand design) and the average damage tooltip went down almost 6k, BUT the actual damage on bosses increased a lot. Couple that with some sweet jewels and you're doing way more dps (and with more ES, thanks to ES rolls on jewels).

I'd say that the cluster jewel part of the tree should be highlighted, as it makes the gameplay much smoother.

Also got to a part where upgrades are becoming too expensive, and stuff in high-end maps can easily kill me if they're rolled horribly or if I'm not paying attention (but maybe that's just part of the endgame experience for this build). Sitting at a neat 7.6k ES, that can maybe be pushed into 8k with a better gloves/boots setup.

I love playig branders, although i dont understand some features, and use build guides like this one. Its amazing, but i have some issues. I dont feel damage, and sometimes t15-t16 bosses oneshot me. A5 Sirus was pain. Last time i played not LL brand build, and things were better. Maybe im doing something wrong? I have no opportunity to get noice wand rn, not even mention better rolled stuff. My res capped (except chaos), and ES is 6.5k, 5 link for brand, but its wip.

Main question is: my current setup is kinda ok, or im just stupid and cant see obvious problems? (By "better rolled" i mean some shit which is about 5-∞ ex, cant afford it rn).

You're missing a few things that are important for DPS:

-Wise Oak

-Watchers Eye

-Helm with -9 cold res, and an enchant

-Elemental quality on rings to hit 100% conversion

-"adds lightning damage if you havn't killed recently" boot enchant

-Six link

-Trigger wand for wave of conviction


If you get a few of these things, bosses should die much faster. Your setup is fine and honestly just a six link will make it feel much better.

The thing's that will oneshot are usually dodgeable and we have big mobility to do that with brands.
