The good people responsible for the mod are busy preparing build 0066.3, I wonder what more could they possibly add? I know there is an Alternative Balance patch that adds even more quests and stuff, I haven't yet tried it, but a new build?
Hmm could that possibly mean the continuation of that certain quest with Loa, the female duelist that our Nameless Hero could romance and if properly completed the whole quest line (quite a task), then escort to Jharkendar in order to board the One-eyed Elsa (pending embarkation) on a voyage to Drakia? But then I thought that was something of a whole new project like an alternative to Gothic 3 with a whole new game world from scratch, hmm... only time will tell! While awaiting for... Diablo's resurrection, check out the good old Gothic games. Chronicles of Myrtanna mod made by the awesome polish gothic fans community is just around the corner, it will be available in Steam for free, provided of course you own the original game.

A little while back a fellow Gothic fan made a thread for a huge G2NotR mod called Legend of Ahssun. It was one of the few that I hadn't played, as of that date. I thought I'd give it a try, downloaded and installed it, and I can say that I'm having a blast. It's actually a huge total conversion of the original game, with new protagonist, world and scenario, many quests, areas, NPCs and tons of new and interesting stuff, all very well implemented.

Might check out Gothic 2 with all these mods, never played any of the original games as I didn't have much time for gaming back then.
I also noticed while going to GoG to checkout prices that a full remake of Gothic 1 using the Unreal Engine is in the works which looks interesting. |
