Hey Wrecker!

Got a bit burned out in Delirium playing your zombies (not their fault!), so I stopped playing, but I am all ready and hyped for Harvest and I really hope this build will be viable, it looks very fun. \0/
Hey Elocara,

Sorry the Zombie build didn't work out for you (it's getting way beefier for 3.11). This build will work really well for this coming league I think. I'll still have a disclaimer that its single target DPS is low but it's going to be pretty solid I think.

Thanks for the kind words!

Oh no, it was really not the build that didn't work out. I didn't enjoy Delirium all that much, too hectic for my slow play style. I believe "farming" and tending a "garden" will be a better pace for me. I also can't play PoE all the time, need to take breaks and play other games.

But beefier sounds good too for the zombies... I wonder if I should do a little test character with the CI build to see how well it works for me, but leveling up to the point where it works is a pain. Can't wait for PoE 2 with a new campaign.

And you deserve all the kind words I can think of for your continuing dedication to support your builds over and over again for every league. I imagine it's quite a lot of work this time too, since they said they reworked the passive tree quite a bit. So thank you again for the effort you put in this, your builds are so enjoyable!
Thank you, Wrecker. I've played all your builds, but this one is my favorite since before she was a Cold-Hearted Cu....err, Curser. In fact, at the beginning of Delirium, I took the build and replaced Vortex with Frostblink (<== not a misprint) as the "1-button fun" to take advantage of the recent buff to that gem while keeping with the cold theme. It wasn't exactly Awakener-viable, but I had some laughs.

I came back to take a look at changing the build to one that's aura-based and...you've already done it. Double thanks. This means it will be my starter build for Gardening League. Those shrubs don't stand a chance.

Thanks Elocara,

You're very kind. I really appreciate all you said. Thank you.

CI can be rough to level, but it's worth it (in my opinion).

I too am really excited about this league. I prefer a slower-paced PoE and am glad this seems to be a league that all paces can enjoy.

Thank you Exile_The_Great,

You're very kind! Thanks for trying all my builds! I really like this one as well. It doesn't seem sexy on paper (though Frostblink is tempting ;)) but it's really a capable build. I'm glad the 3.10 changes work for your preference. The aura version does less damage on paper than the 3.9 version, but in actually gameplay, it's more defensive and does more consistent damage. I'm glad you like it.

Hopefully, the tree changes don't impact this build too much (with the exception of adding a cluster jewel). I like it the way it is :).

Thanks for your kindness! Let me know how it goes for you league starting this league.

Just wanted to pop my head in here and say THANKS.

I have been playing my RF Chieftan per your guide and decided to try this build. I made a witch and she is fun to play - thanks in part to your build.

I cannot express enough what a huge fan I am of your guides. If only I could clone you and have that clone make a detailed and easy to follow guide on crafting. I know so many people like me that are clueless. It truly pains me because I enjoy crafting in other games that I have played.

Anyhow, keep up the great work

Hey dlvbrown1969,

Nice to see you :). You're very kind. I appreciate you taking the time to be so encouraging.

I'm really glad you like the guides and that they'be been helpful. Though it's not a crafting guide, I've been meaning to update my Tips for New Folks section in my One Stop Shop.

Once I get more time to myself (which is not in the foreseeable future) I'd really like to get to know how to make YouTube videos well. Whether a crafting guide is better on video or paper, I don't know. But no matter the medium, it's a good reminder and something I'd like to do.

Thanks again for your kindness :).

I found a level 55 witch with full passives refund (my first ever character just after launch) and tried it out a little, but I think this might not be my build, at least not as long as there's such a long cooldown on vortex. My fingers cramp when trying to actually hit enemies, which I don't if I just keep it pressed down.

I might just end up with another round of zombies. Or gladiator. Or zombies. Probably zombies. XD

:) Sounds good Elocara,

55 is pretty low for CI so if you ever get the itch again, level her up a bit and then see how it feels.

Did you mean that Vortex doesn't re-cast when you're holding down the Vortex button? Or that holding down the Vortex button cramps you up? (Vortex's cooldown gets smaller as the gem levels up.)

Thanks for your honesty! I'll see you on the zombie side :).

What kind of mana regen is required or rather recommended? I am trying to use 3 curse auras. I have the few nodes for reduced mana reserve that are on the bottom left of the passive tree. Or, is there a mana leech that I should use? On a similar note, I have 1 node so far that is ES leech. Is that also something I want more of?

EDIT:

I think I see more mana regen in my future ... but, I'd still like to know about ES leech. Also, enemies do damage to my ES, I obviously cannot use a life flask to heal my life like I do with other characters. So. What do I do? Run away until ths ES builds back up?
