Hello been reading a lot about this build and pretty sure i will make it as league starter (act6 switch to full stone golems)
Are you going to update guide for 3.11? Are there any other MAJOR nerfs than VMS? Any tips for 3.11 with this build? | |
" VMS is really the only major nerf to the build however we can pick up the new keystone, "Imbalanced Guard" which I plan to do as we are mainly a armor build this would be a huge benefit to us. I cleared all content and league started as Stone Golem last league so have quite a bit of knowledge in regards to the build, if you were wondering where I get my information from :) |
|
" How did you level? I played a similar build last league, but switched from necro. It seems like a pretty rough start, without access to items. |
|
" Skelies/Zombies/Spectres is the easiest way, all the nodes you take scale minion damage, you can go Necro if you want and switch later however I don't personally. Once you get Anima Stone you can gradually start getting a Golem setup together, then work on getting more jewels, Might/Harmony etc which will be scarce at league start. |
|
Yea, I'm also thinking about going some minion hybrid from the start. Last league I had the amulet etc. ready when leveling up, so it was much easier. But I think going as minion build can be pretty easy, they are usually easier to level up. Not fastest, but not hard either.

" How is the Keystone working with this build? Don't you have really high physical reduction from chaos golem, and this keystone limits it to 50%? I tried to read some reddit post about it, but I'm stupid with all the wording. There is like 10 different terms for reducing damage / resists / less damage taken and whatnot :) |
|
" Yes maximum physical would be reduced to 50% however you would be getting the double benefit from armor. It's a very strong node either way and as I usually go down to Soul of Steel, I will be definitely trying it for 1 point. |

I think this build will be about the same. The VMS nerfs bigger hits at once but its basically the same effectiveness over longer. The only thing i plan on changing is Adding in a thread of hope and a staff instead of cold irons. With a staff and thread of hope and change chest piece to Saqawal's Nest. ( you can use skin of the loyal too)
WIth thread of hope on the left by the minion wheel, we pick up the following: Faith and steel redemption righteous army spiriual command sanctum of thought glancing blows whirling barrier steelwood stance discipline and training Tireless You could pick up some of the mana reserve wheel if you wanted more auras, holy dominion for free 12 resist, or precision for dex/movement speed but i dont know if i'll do any of these. With a crafted staff we get aspect of the avian + sagwal's nest. We also get base block from the staff + steelwood stance + whirling barrier. With these 3 alone and glancing blows we are basically max block. You can also go with a shield and pick the shield nodes next to glancing instead of the staff nodes. But i think the staff would be better with how good crafting is going to be this season. + aspect of the avian is really broken for minions. You can still easily block without glancing by adding the block flask, and getting a few more block nodes (even without thread of hope) Another alternative is not going impale or brutality, and throwing on the new chest piece that gives your light resist to enemys and using triad gloves to convert all minion damage to lightning. Stack armor and max block. But without knowing how "close" the chest piece works, or how much armor you need to get -light resist, its pretty untested. |
