Finally hit a decent sceptre in heist, took many tries of shuddering+metallic fossil and shrieking/deafening essences of zeal. I think a fractured attack speed sceptre would be cheaper essence-wise, but just couldn't find one. Now at 8.5aps without onslaught, 9.8 with.

Market has been pretty dry for interesting bases, also the new experimental bases (all pretty useless for this build) have been clogging up the search.

Hey guys, I've been playing CoC ball lightning as a Scion recently. I'm not saying that the Assassin version is bad, but I feel that Assassin was nerfed a bit too much in the last couple of patches.

Comparison of Scion vs. Assassin:
1) The Scion version is not CI and thus has lower HP pool. This means that It's weaker against one-shots.
2) The Scion version is tankier against small hits because of the max block and life gained on block.
3) The Assassin version has more sustain (larger ES gained on hit, ES leech).
4) The Assassin version has more movement speed.

I might write a guide for the Scion version, but I'm not sure if I have enough time to do so. You can always check my profile if you are interested in the Scion version.

Nice! So all of your power charge generation is from the Stormrider notable?

The life on block on empowered bone offering is insane... PoB saying you get 594 on block (50% reduced from necro, 25% increased from chest?). It's still comparable if you get es on block shield on the CI version (~500es gained if you have 10k es).

Shaper life on spell hit is pretty cool, how long did it take you to hit T1 life? Did you just pristine fossil on the awakened item?

Another tankiness note is that you lose your crit immunity from mistwalker.

I guess a big advantage of scion is damage, being able to run 2 lightning clusters and get a bunch of extra jewel sockets for crit multi. I'm currently at about 1/4-1/2 of your damage on the assassin version (given that I'm not investing in AoE or adjacent animosity, just recently swapped from arc): https://pastebin.com/wijvGwZc

Yeah, bone offering was nerfed but still insanely strong. With Glancing Blows, It gives 54% chance to block attacks and spells on top of the life gained on block.

Just spammed pristine fossil. I was super lucky and got this in less than 10 trials.

You are probably right, but you need all these crit multi jewels, and they are not cheap (5ex * 5 jewels = 25ex for just rare jewels).

One of the big reasons the Sion version got so much power is the positioning of Militant Faith. I got 170 devotion which gives me around 15% more damage aside from the access to Inner Conviction. I really like the current passive tree.

First of all, your aps is too high. Ditch lightning golem and passive skills that grant attack speed.

Second, you are using two curses without level 5 awakened hextouch support. This doesn't work. Remove one of them or take the +1 curse limit notable in the passive tree.

Third, you should find a good megalomaniac with overlord and use a rare large cluster jewel.

Finally, your amulet is bad. As I stated in the guide, what you need is flat ES, attributes and crit multi. I also stated multiple times in the guide that +1 to level of lightning gem is the last mod you are looking for. I have seen so many people picking up a bad amulet with +1 to lighting gems... This is a trap since other mods on the amulet tend to be shitty, like this one. If you get attributes from amulet, you don't have to take dex from the passive tree etc, which in turn makes you stronger.
