I tried with hypothermia and I feel like it takes a bit of time to get dps where you want it and if boss has minions it takes your dps down a lot, DD keeps it nice and steady. Tho without DD i could get ES shield for more survivability and did not decide yet which way to go. I will decide when I see CDR or Awa spell cascade if it helps with VD procs. with DD we are not wasting any additional corpses that we spawn.

I plan to get 1 ring for herald of ash and get more dps from that. I believe it will be like 30% more dps.

next thing is figure out what is optimal CDR and farm currency for it.

also annoint amu, not sure yet what tho, maybe tranquility for even more dps.

How would you guys upgrade the gear? Iam currently trying to get -res on a new 86 ilvl warlords helmet, but other than that iam not quite sure where to look for upgrades.

It seems like its kinda similar I think :) Gonna try now with the new helmet, and see if it feels better. But iam still unsure about my weapon, is it fine or is it trash? Its a 12c wep that I bought cause of the non chaos dmg as extra.. But I have no clue if its good or bad tho..

looking the top build in poe ninja they doesn't use DD but only VD. also all of them use herald of ash and for the annoint on amu they use heart of flame for 25% increased Fire Damage, Damage Penetrates 6% Fire Resistance and 0.2% of Fire Damage Leeched as Energy Shield. i have somenthing like 20ex and i don't know what build to follow right now xD.

I was the same, same budget mostly. there is just few ppl using VD + DD together as it is tought to manage mana (I need enlighten 4, had to re-spec out of 4% mana reduction so my 3 auras would reserve below 35%, have 14 mana and ring with just enough -mana cost of skills that allows me to use barrage (1 mana cost just for inspiration charges) and flame dash (13-14 mana cost). mana is not a problem tho as regen is massive.
I use thread of hope to save few skill points as well. I could just as well go away from heart of fire and annoint it while get rid of ToH and click those points as normal people do :D i really did a thing on my variant

now that i think about it I just went around few key points and mainly did my own build... not sure if its better or not tho.

I didnt plan to go this way either at first but a dude I asked few things told me he rans this set up and it works well /well he runs different as he does not do my crazy ass set up with all i wrote above/.
here are some of his videos and he is runnin warcry for ES regent and more def


when I kept it decent I had zealotry, HoA, Anger, Discipline with VD only. Just adding anger to the mix is quite a bit of extra DPS. Zealotry is also more crit chance and spell dmg. or drop zealotry and run ES shield for 10k es.

too bad there is no dps meter but VD+DD consumes all corpses you spawn so DPS imho should be higher and more constant.

your wand is decent. No need to upgrade yet. In the future get one with more spell damage for fire and more flat damage for either attacks or spells, you don't need extra chaos or crit on it

You dont think detonate dead is good for this build like zizaran uses? It also adds a huge mana reservation cost and idk if its even possible to at least somewhat easily get enough reduction to be able to use everything needed.

By the way why doesnt using elemental focus cancel out the benefits from hypothermia or is there some interaction with spellslinger Im not aware of?

And is it not overkill to use both wave of conviction and curse on hit to reduce the res? Could use herald of ash maybe instead.

Zizaran is also using vaal discipline but not sure if thats really needed. Probably nice for the es version (which Im planning on going atm) Not sure how worth it is(?), but never played an ES build in my life.

Hey, wanted to ask why frenzy level 1?

Also between -7 non channeling and -9 is huge difference or its fine?

having capped 75% chaos and im struggling on simulacrum with mobs and boss for example rest of the maps are quite ok but simulacrum wave 20 with boss and mobs cant beat them
any upgrades possible?or maybe a tactic for the boss?

Resist pen is effectively a multiplier to your damage especially for high end maps and bosses. Detonate dead could fit in the 6-link from what I;ve seen but not with a slinging wave of conviction. You could put conviction in the wand instead of desecrate or bone offering and have BO a CWDT setup.

I personally want to make use of the Reckoning that comes with the shield with maybe a CoH Flamability and LHoH as well. Put wave of conviction on the wand and combustion on the frenzy. I also want to try Xophs blood as an amy maybe. Pretty much matches the OP's firepen along with the Ash debuff. AFAIK the avatar of fire doesn't reduce our dps but I could be wrong.

Thanks yea, gotta see if I can fit a curse on hit with low life. Kinda wanted to go for it, but idk. Just curious to finally make an ES based build! Could maybe use flammability on hit instead of herald of ash. Not sure if that would be worth it in the end, maybe for bossing if the clear damage is enough without herald of ash?

Also I guess elemental focus doesnt mess up with hypothermia since everyone is using it.

Edit: is there a big difference between using frenzy + barrage support or barrage (with curse on hit, even though I might still have to put the curse on hit to my blood magic link)
