The wand craft will trigger one of the socketed spells on any skill you actively use, alternating between any spells on each skill use, with a separate 4 second cooldown on each of the spells in the wand.
This means that if your wand holds Storm Brand and Frost Bomb, every time you attack with Power Syphon or cast Vortex through left-clicking, it will check all the gems inside your wand, and trigger the first gem in the order of links (top left gem first, bottom right gem last), provided that gem isn't on the 4 second cooldown. If the first gem is on cooldown, it will trigger the second instead, and so on.

You can still cast a skill that is bound to left-click while standing still, by holding down the key bind that forces you to stand still at the same time as you left click (iirc it's Shift by default; you can change that key in your Keybinding settings ingame). But most of the time you will not think about it and just cast Vortex automatically by moving, really.
Personaly I would remove frost bomb from the trigger setup and just cast it manualy. You only need it for bosses anyway and having it as part of a 3 spell trigger sequence is to unreliable imo.
Hi! thank you so much for this guide, i'll be trying it this league after felt in love with vd+dd spellslinger on 3.11 (and getting my heart destroyed with the nerfs on 3.12 :P)

how does this build manages with bossing? there is any change on the strategy of the attacks or you just do the same that when you clear?

We attack 2 times per second with Power Syphon and use Vortex every second inbetween as well. You will trigger Frost Bomb as soon as it's off coldown, constantly, both on packs and bosses. Why bother casting it manually when there's no opportunity cost at all?
Thanks a ton for the build. I haven't played a league in almost a year and this looks like it scratches an itch for what I wanted to play. I was looking at your LL More Damage Endgame POB and I have a few questions. They might be stupid.

I have usually always died from ground effects (explosions) and one shots from offscreen when I am picking up loot. I know GGG loves that stuff so with both the new league mechanic plus the new atlas boss fights I was wondering if I changed these gems, will it be effective or will Chris Wilson personally call me to tell me I am bad at his game?

My main thought process behind this is that since Power Syphon is an attack, if we get +# Lightning or Fire damage to attacks which is pretty easy to get on ring/glove/jewels/ or boots this would proc our EE. Then I can switch the following:

Wand: Frost Bomb, Void Sphere, Frost Wall - this would help group mobs for dots, remove corpses, Hinders mobs, and give me something to hide and cast behind.

Gloves: Charged Dash, Cast while Channeling, Frost Bolt, Arcane Surge (not sure what level). This gives me another move skill and all the Frost Bolts I want. Charged Dash also procs EE. You can easily channel in place from behind the Frost Wall.

Boots: Disciple, Vitality, Flame Dash, Power Siphon - this brings back vitality to help recovering from big boss hits and gives culling with Power Siphon

Ring: Frostbite on Hit. Losing max level Frostbite and a whole Elemental Weakness hurts but hopefully I can make up some damage by doing...

Drop Malediction Pick up Forbidden Power

From your Level 93 POB Tree 4 points gets Infused and Overcharge for 2 more Power Charges. 4 More points gets Discipline of the Forbidden for a 7th Power charge and another 8% damage per charge. These could also be picked up while waiting to afford the Cluster Jewels. Dropping a couple things like Might if you have Strength on gear or Arcane Vision helps us get there.

It seems like it might be safer for a little less damage but I am not sure. And feedback? Again, thanks for the build and the time you take to explain everything. hope you drop a Mirror this league.

So, I will go with this as my league starter as I haven't tried Cold DoT Occultist yet and I love the automated play style of Spellslinger. One question though, it tends to take me a while to get my trigger craft. Until then, do you recommend to just not taking EE and taking the damage loss?

Cause honestly, manually casting the spells to trigger EE sounds like a nightmare ^^

if not SSF, you can buy unveiled i-lvl 75+ wand/scepter. It worked for me on my starter slinger VD/DD on harvest

with the betrayal atlas ascendancy it should be faster to get trigger now.. hopefully.. :D
Don't forget lvl 75 Brute Force and Trap Disarmament Heist Contracts have weapon chest and drop a lot of veiled weapons
