[3.16] Coldslinger | Vortex | Creeping Frost | League Start | SSF | CI/LL

I made this build, i have 7k es LL. +75 all ressist and i cant stop to die.
What is wrong whit my build? i cant undersand. I dont want to spend any more currency on this useless build.

Playing this as league start (moving slowly but surely). Recently transitioned over to CI, and things are going very well, at least through high white maps (only level 80).

I'm curious about some of the defensive skills across both versions though... For instance, you list Steelskin as a "must" for entering maps. But it has a 1.5 sec base duration, and since our left click is already mapped to Vortex, I'm not seeing a convenient way to keep it up. Is the expectation actually that we just spam Steelskin every few seconds, or am I missing something?

Same thing with Tempest Shield, although that's slightly less extreme (12 sec base duration).

Is this just a playstyle thing that I either need to suck up, or find an alternate to, or is there some mechanic I'm missing? I've been away for about... 3-4 leagues, so, I'd fully buy I'm missing something.

Have you considered trying to slot a CWDT setup anywhere in here? Maybe a cluster jewel with enduring composure, and stick CWDT+IC into our wand with Frost Bomb?

Also on that note, what cluster jewels would you consider for this build?

No I see why I cant make it work, you are using an Enlighten 4 not 2. That one I cannot afford yet ...

I league started with the CI build and have been min-maxing my way up to here: https://pastebin.com/6uEE5Urx

I bought all gear very early for a few C, and crafted links/colors myself. got pretty lucky on a 6L chest (12 fusings!!!), and recently upgraded to one with higher base stats and corrupted > 6L it with 1! tainted fusing.

All resists, atck block, spell block are capped. phys reduction at 72% (with all flasks up).

Damage is 800k+ on Sirus.

Physical is still a (little) pain point. I am looking at switching out clarity/golem for enlighten + determination. But at the current price for enlighten, it's not worth for me.

I hope my build helps anyone trying to min-max his CI starter build.

One question though: is there still room for a power spike within this build? Or is the only way to switch to LL with other gear?

Can you explain to me what you're dying from? If you're dying from 200+ stacks in Scourge, then there is your problem... As an aside, you can drop some damage and pick up Determination instead to mitigate a lot of the physical damage you're seeing from Scourges.

Ahh, I see, I didn't even realize I had level 4- thought I had level 3. I updated the POB for a much more budget-friendly version that uses a cluster setup + reservation small cluster: https://pastebin.com/KHA5Cms0

Unfortunately, CI does not have a good power spike just because of the auras you can't run without being able to dip into your life pool for reservation. You miss out on: Malevolence, Hatred, and Zealotry + Pain Attunement, which totalizes up to like ~110% more damage. Alternatively, you can opt for the tankier version of the LL, which feels pretty good, but has a bit less damage.

That's what I was afraid of. Still, the build is pretty tanky, very good clear speed, but with bosses have to rely a little bit more on mechanics than facetanking :D

Considering enlighten is so expensive at the moment, I think I'll reroll another character just for boss killing.

Kuddos to you for this build, I had a lot of fun leveling and min-maxing this!!

I am enjoying the tanky CI version. I love the tankiness so much that I've actually switched to it FROM the LL version and now I am trying to push the damage. Unfortunately at the moment it feels really low, especially in boss encounters (Sirus etc). I went for a slightly different tree, self-cast and focused on mana reservation to squeeze in Hatred. If anyone is interested, here's the PoB:

having the same issue with mana, trying to search on poe trade and there's nothing I can search for mana reservation efficiency on cluster jewels. also cant afford enlighten atm. any other alternatives i can do to sustain vortex and frenzy indefinitely?
