Its annoying but said many times on here, for people experiencing lots of crashes turn off sounds. I have crashed about 4 times in around 60+ hours of play this league, annoying but playable with sounds off, i just listen to podcasts.

FTFY. It's common sense that wouldn't affect crashes unless you were doing something specific to cause it, and it's been confirmed by an employee that it makes no difference.

Where has it been confirmed by an employee, i searched it and could not find it.

It could very well be sound drivers causing the crash, interesting fact but a number of streamers this league that had issues with the game at launch reduced those problems by disabling sound, so it does seem to be affecting it.

I definitely noticed a change in the number of crashes just by turning off sounds, haven't had sounds on for a number of leagues now though so it may no longer be an issue, be good to know for def if u could link that post by staff though.

First i will admit i googled it not searched the forums which would of been the smart thing to do.

Second i was experiencing crashes every hour or so during legion? (not sure the league now) I turned off the sounds and the crashes reduced drastically. Like i said sounds have been off for a number of leagues now so it may no longer affect it but it did then.

If you just search these forums there are a large number of people that have seen improvements by turning off the sounds. I will turn them back on and see how it goes.

Also theres an interesting reddit thread that talks about the effect sounds have on performance for poe and in that thread is some good technical explanation on why sound does effect performance.

Because none of that sound stuff is true and it annoys the living shit out of me how easily brainwashed people are.

Edit: And honestly a couple months ago my friends kidnapped me and I got in a few weeks of excessively heavy drinking. The post-acutes are hitting me pretty hard. I'd still be pretty aggressive if I were clear headed though, this stuff actually annoys the hell out of me.

P.S. That Reddit thread is about something completely different than this. Performance and crashes aren't the same at all, you can have a game running flawlessly at 100fps and crashing nonstop, and also a game running at 5 fps that never crashes.

Agreed with bloodpuddle it pisses me off when ppl promote 'broscience' or tinfoil hat stuff

I get on PC horrible lag if i enter delve, breach or delirium up to 2 seconds with lowest 400ms until encounter ends. Playing mines build. Wanted to switch to Xbox one X but it seems its getting only worse on console...

its not as bad as it seems for most people. i use this place to vent to the devs about it when its bad. so most of my posts are negative towards the game. over all i dont have many issues with crashing. its mostly on league starts and gets better within a few weeks.

Not as bad as the previous league, still god awful and the worst performing game on the PS4.

That just speak volumes about how poorly this game performs overall.
