Taking a Golden Rule will help you a lot. You already have the Watcher's Eye effect, but to reap the benefit, you need both.

Chaos resistance is a stat that I partially neglect, since the Golden Rule also helps out with that too.


With your equipment, the build should have no problem in T16 maps when playing with Mistwall. The important rule is to never stand still, but that goes for a lot of builds.

Vitality is being changed, I am waiting for the Path of Building update, to rebalance the mana reservations.

Ohh and your circle of Nostalgia is missing out the damage affix. (You want either buff effect or inc. chaos damage)

Just skimmed through the patch notes before starting to work.

We are totally fine. Even getting a minor buff with the changed Vitality, if mana reservation turns out right.

I am still waiting for the PoB update to rebalance the mana reservation, but that seems just a minor part that, considering it reserves flat mana now, everyone might have to do by himself.

After skipping the previous league (I played for a few days) I plan to play more now. I want to make a character for a poison, I love the DoT mechanics in games. And I think I will put on your guide, it is very neatly written and the fact that you do not have a million different guides like some others, which often loses quality with each subsequent update, because the creator usually does not even play them. I am still wondering about the attack posion, but I have played that already (long time ago under Molten Strike and when it came out under Venom Gyre) and probably the attitude towards something new and BV is always pleasant. Doing the math the amount of mana Vitality reserves at level 20 is higher than it was before. Aprox 212>233. Basally fixed by just not maxing it out and should give more Regen than it did before anyway. It would give around 100 LPS before and now gives 247 at level 20.

TLDR:
Reserved mana at max: level 212>233 (+9.9%)
Life regen per sec: ~100LPS>247LPS (+247%)
Life regen per mana reserved: 0.47>1.6 (+340%)
Data assumes Characters life is aprox 5.5k and both gems are lvl20q0.

I'm doing this quick at work so correct me if I messed up somewhere.
So for leveling i've been looking at the tree in "Leveling Suggestion" instead of the path of building under "Early Stage / Leveling". Would that be the way to go for CA -> TR -> BV?

I have a golden rule but swapped out a 'not affected by corrupted blood' as I read it might help with some boss fights like sirus where the stacks add up fast. His homing laser messed me up in the last phase.

I reached 2 times level 100 with it, so dying wasn't an option.

You still have to play mechanics, for example Sirus can kill you with his DIE-Laser, but all the standard content, including juiced maps, feels safe.

I went in Harvest for CA -> TR (Act 2) -> Unleash + Poison + BV (mid Act 5) and it worked like a charm.

A friend of mine will start this league with it and interrogated me a lot about it.
Just saw that there was a nerf to Circle of Nostalgia's Mana reservation reduction(30-40>15-20). With how vitality works now it probably wont be an issue since it gives us more leeway and we'll probably get more life-regen out of the deal either way.

Also Alt quality for BV:
Default 10% increased Area of Effect
Alternate Quality 1 0.4% of Damage Leeched as Life
Alternate Quality 2 20% chance to create an additional Blade
Alternate Quality 3 60% increased Damage while you have 5 or fewer Blades

Really the only ones that seem worth it are the last 2, which basically sacrifice clear speed for more consistent single target damage.
