recommend not putting skills on A/X because that is what you use to open doors and interact.
but certain movement skills are bad but shield charge, whirling blades, flame dash are all fine if you view the movement skill try to always have it selected to go its furthest distance rather than to name lock. look at the skill on your skill bar and press X/Square to use alt behaviour | |
" what do you mean by locking ?? is it possible to avoid a gem from receiving exp?? it would have saved me a lot of time |

" Pick the gear the gem you want to lock is in. Go to gems on that gear (where you can highlight each gem individually and look at it's stats.) Once you're on the gem you want to lock at the current level, hit triangle. The gem in question will now show as "auto-level disabled." The gem will gain experience up to the next level and stop. If you then highlight the gem again and click triangle, it will immediately level up. This is a good way to control gem leveling when you're at high level. For example, if you're in red maps, we all know that just clearing trash will often level a brand new gem to level 8 in one map. To avoid this, take the gem you want to stop at a certain level (Like you're trying to get your new Arcane Surge to level 6 only) and disable leveling. Then run a map. After you clear some trash, stop in the middle of the map for a moment and click the gem to let it level to 2, then lock it again. Clear some more trash. Unlock it to level to 3. Lock it again...clear more trash...etc. Do this until you get the gem to the level you want. Hope this helps. Z. |

" It's not possible to transfer a PC account to PS4 or xbox. For the locking gems question, see my previous reply. Totems work fine on console. Most skills autotarget for the most part based on the direction your character is facing, so there's a lot more active movement to control what you're shooting at. If you want to make sure your totem lands to the right of your toon, you need to have your toon facing towards the right in most cases. As for movement skills, the bar-none best movement skill on console is flame dash, but really any movement skill that has the "blink" tag is pretty good including dash and frostblink. I have been told that phase run works fine, but have never played it myself. Leap slam is very unreliable and rubberbands way more than any of the other skills (that is, you think you moved, but then the computer catches up due to latency and puts you right back in that pack of mobs you thought you escaped...and rip!) Whirling blades is okay most of the time, but don't count on it as an escape skill because with autotargetting it will often just hit the mob right next to you and stop unless you turn on alt-behavior as described in a post above. In that case, you need to make sure to whirl THROUGH the mob you're trying to hit. Leap slam does this too. Basically, with any non-blink move skill, you have to make a choice on console. Do you want something like WB/LS to rescue you? Or do you want it to proc fortify. It CAN do both but it won't ALWAYS do both unlike on PC where you have much more control for movement skills. The two are often mutually exclusive on console. Mirror arrow is horrible and a one way ticket to deathville. |

A few other tips for console play:
The best console build uses three buttons counting a movement skill as one of them. This allows you to leave X unbound which is ideal. You have access to up to 12 skills by holding left and right trigger with your four buttons, but using them in the heat of battle requires a fairly high joystick-jockey level of skill. When I consider a build, I limit myself to five truly active skills, and one of those is almost always a vaal-pop using LT and triangle. Popping short term buffs like vaal grace/haste or berserk is less troublesome because it's usually only done for single target encounters and usually you pop them all at once. High movement skill builds where you leap slam through the entire map are very unreliable on console. You WILL rubberband and it WILL kill you. Trading is very expensive. Whatever you expected to pay for an item on day 20 of the league on PC...multiply it by 10 on PS4. Of course, the stuff you sell will also sell correspondingly higher. Flasks are tricky to manage. It's not like PC where you can keep flasks rolling through the whole map. Triggering them en masse is awkward. For this reason, I believe pathfinder is a huge no-no on console in particular as are builds that rely heavily on having multiple flasks running throughout a map clear. If it's just one, you can assign it to L1 or R1, but if you need four running, it's tough until the muscle memory starts to really kick in. |

" one more question: If I block a gem and forget, when I unlock the gem, will it level all XP or one level at a time? I usually use only the standard X button, 2 attacks and 1 move, in R2 I use auras and summons. I am a beginner player. I didn't get to start Atlas even in the Standart League Thank you for your help |

I could be misremembering, but I believe someone at GGG said they could transfer your PC account to a PSN account from their side (although. It may have been the other way around). Email support and ask them. They are very responsive.

" If you lock a gem it will stop gaining exp right at the point where it would get its level. So, if you unlock it, it will gain exactly that level and nothing more. |
