Did the spin to win league start and have about 20ex to dump into a build. Wanted to give Crackling Lance a shot and always love playing assassin. Think I'll give this build ago. Appreciate it!

Sidenote: Noticed you don't run Vaal Discipline. Is there a reason for that? I typically like running it just so I have a oh crap button if it gets too hairy. Anyway looking forward to this build, thanks again!

I went with vaal RF instead for damage, but discipline is definitely good too

Thanks for the guide, ur cold spell variant pastebin is not working, can you re do it please? Do you think this would work with ice nova? i ever wanted to play self cast ice nova beacuse aoe is huge and corrupted is op for clear.

Done that

It will definitely work with ice nova but with some changes, you might want to use 1 or 2 medium cluster for vast power to bring up the aoe

Also, frostbolt for targeted frost nova for single target.

Clear/aoe focused - vast power

Single target focused - pressurepoint/quick getaway


I have not done frost nova for like 4 leagues, but i dont think theres much changes to it

I fight a boss and im out of mana so quickly.

Everysingle spell/casting build will need to rely on enduring rolled mana flask, they removed all form of mana leech for spells as of few leagues back

I'm having trouble staying alive with the build, having trouble around t13/t14 maps, heists, etc. Dying pretty consistently, might be a playstyle issue but is there any chance you could give it a once-over to see if I'm missing something super obvious? I don't think I am and maybe I just need to play a lot more carefully? Is it just that my gems are a bit underleveled?

That is some similar problem i had with crackling lance, because the clear coverage is a lil shitty, theres always stragglers there to kill you. I would say its more of a playstyle thing, always try to stay in range when clearing so the fork lightning can hit the most targets and try not to go into laser mode unless you are focus damaging.

The playstyle with ball lightning would probably be 10x safer and stronger because of huge coverage on clear

Are you on the community PoB version? All his links I've tried have worked fine. The BL one should be very similar to the CL one, there's no easy projectile damage nodes so they should scale the same way on tree.
