If I just swapped to ball lightning would I still be doing good dmg posted gear I am using above currently using stormbrand I just don't like the feel of the skill.

I don't wana go lowlife either so I can use inpulsa+stormgift to get big explodies what auras should I use?

Just run wrath and a herald in this case, very hard to stack multiple auras if you are running a life build

I find I have been dying alot in high tier maps 14+ I think due to no real layers of defense all I really got going for me is evasion which is really low cause of all the uniques I wana run and elusive from the badge of the brotherhood that I forgot to link into the post any idea on what I could do to have another better defensive layer like mom or one of the new defensive nodes that maybe of use?

Your build is vastly different from mine already, because of all the uniques you run/life build, you cant use ES(which we have up to 7.5-8k easily, with leech), you cant run flesh and stone(which is 11% less damage taken and blind nearby enemies.

I would suggest however running for a slayer build instead, get frenzy/power/endurance charge generation and you can make a life based void battery badge build work.

Hits with cold damage chills, however as of now it is still extremely confusing what is chill threshold and if it really applies. If you dont trust this, you could use another large cluster notable. I take this mainly to focus on shattering stuff while mapping, it provides a less than tiny bit of dps against bosses because we dont penetrate their cold ass

Running CI makes us not able to run as much auras, means we lose out on at least 1 big aura and probably flesh and stone and a herald possibly

Running arc, further gimps us because arc is actually mechanically terrible right now
