Generally you should be careful with timed buffs that change your hit rate at it becomes difficult to control your attack rate of cyclone. If you'd like onslaught, perhaps you could run a 6-link chest with some minions in there instead, which should trigger the onslaught you get from the Guardian ascendancy as long as you have 5 or more minions near you. You can then modify your investment into attack speed to reach an optimal attack rate again.

The spectres are there to give power and frenzy charges yes. I'm not quite sure what you mean by relics having enough uptime, but they are permanent minions.

The lack of Lifetap support may be an issue for the charge generating spectres, in which case losing the minion life support is probably the way to go, although it sucks to lose it.

Ah, I forgot about fixing the mana. Probably the way to go is to get two Elreon mana crafts on rings (skill have -# to total mana cost). With better pathing on the tree we can also then get the Mana mastery "10% chance to recover 10% of mana when you use a skill" for some quality of life.

All of the gems in the cyclone setup should also be level 1 with the exception of bone offering.
What about activation setup like that?
Cyclone
Fortify
Culling strike
Life gain on hit

Would that be more qol? Then maim and infused channelling as we don’t deal that much of a dmg from cyclone ?

Oh gotcha. That's something to keep in mind then. Also, thanks for the min-maxed version.

If I do decide to invest heavily on attack speed and can reach an attack rate of 10 for cyclone (meaning it will hits 10 times per second, right?) will there be an increase in DPS then?

My question is does investing in attack speed increase our DPS? Or can we simply have an attack rate of even 5 and we're good to go?

The min-max necro POB looks interesting. U think u can league start it? How much ex investment was it for endgame gear?
Can you share the crafting method for min-max version staff?

More attack speed isn't necessarily better, you just need to have an attack rate which triggers the relics optimally. Once you're getting Onslaught, it probably makes sense to reduce your investment into attack speed so that you're hitting at 7.5 attacks per second again.

The only things that fundamentally changed for the necro are the chest, which generally isn't expensive itself (but a 6-link may be), and the staff is further min-maxed which makes it more expensive to craft.

Both Necro and Guardian can be started with as the gear doesn't fundamentally change between them early on into a league. Of course for Necro you want to be utilising Bone Offering and therefore need to change your links slightly.
What would be a good alternative in case we can't make fortify to work like before?

I would assume maybe try to use life gain on hit and/or culling strike?
