The trade market is SO TOXIC!

I'd like to see L3+↓ to block, adjustable block length (like setting currency prices, but in minutes/hours/days), default block length starts at 30 minutes but afterwards to whatever you last set it at. Two-button simultaneous press to confirm after setting duration. Blocked user blocked from ALL of your listings.

This would allow "forever blocks" (e.g. 365 days) but I don't think they would be overused.

There's a fancy trade mechanic right here on the site... However this doesn't include consoles? I don't think I'll ever go back to playing on pc.

And I'm not sure why ScrotieMcB is so certain they won't remove anonymity.

PC players don't have anonymity when they trade.

And, FYI to the OP, it's just as toxic on Blight. Sure, there are more active players, but it's still super small, and the market is *awful*.

My impression is that, if GGG could do things over again, they'd have made PC trading anonymous to prevent N&S. I think it's more likely that we'd see PC trade anonymity in the future than console non-anonimity. Although perhaps I'm too pessimistic.

That’s why “trading” always gets like this in online games And with the nonexistent player base on console, it just exacerbates the problems with the shitty setup.

I disagree strongly with the premise that trading needs to get like this in online games.

You're assuming players with toxic behavior are playing the market, but at best they're playing the market poorly. I say this as someone who plays the market a considerable amount.

For instance, in the case of the false buyout, the intent of the "seller" is to give false pricing data to other players so that other sellers underprice. However, this doesn't work in a competitive market — for example, if I see one listing much lower than all others (including mine), I'm going to keep my listing priced as-is while trying to buy out the outlier low. If my offer is accepted I win, because I can flip it for profit, and if the buyout is rejected I win, because I wasn't fooled into lowering my price. Best part is: even if he DOES trick someone to lower their price to much, I'm trying to flip those people, too — I'm profiting off his fake listing, without wasting the effort.

Ultimately, that's what a lot of this toxic behavior is: not playing the market well, but playing the market like a jerk. In practice, the market responds far more favorably to cooperative behavior than toxic, and the toxic traders are NOT the traders who get rich flipping; the trader who you efficiently trade with after wasting ten minutes on Fake Buyout Guy is the guy getting rich (that's me!).

Don't get me wrong: there is a LOT of toxic trading behavior. But it isn't motivated by a rational, empirical approach to maximizing return on investment; it is motivated by superstition, jealousy, and malevolence, all utterly unnecessary. All the more reason to know precisely WHO these rude idiots are, to better avoid them.

I can see how any bartering can be frustrating at times. I think the collective strategy is to buy low and sell high... Ofcourse. Nothing wrong with that.

The most irritating part is waiting...and ... We cannot interact with the trade center whilst mapping or delving... We aren't able to offer anything besides currency...

Setting individual prices for everything is tedious. It would be nice to set all items in a tab to 5c each or 1ex etc etc.

This game on ps4 has so much potential. I plan on sticking with it. D4 isnt going to be > poe.
The trade board on ps4 is terrible and slow

but i have some suggestions that would make it a bit better and yes i did take some ideas from ESO

* Make buyouts instant, this would get rid of the need to filter users that are currently online and also means the seller cannot reject the sale, thee only way the seller can reject sales is through trade chat.
* don't allow unpriced items to show up on the store.
* only allow unpriced items in trade chat if it eventually gets added.
* have the trade board show all the pages for the item not just page 1, currently only page 1 is visible and the player has to use L3/LT or R3/RT to see the others.
* have a max 7 days for item listings, if the item doesn't get sold within that time it gets de-listed and seller would have to put the item back up again unless the league ends before that time.

Strongly disagree, as it totally robs buyers of ability to price items. As is, sellers already have incredible pricing power as selling requires real money purchase, reducing competition between sellers.

I think this should be an optional filter. I'm against removing the ability to make offers on unpriced items, but when you're looking for priced items the unpriced items add a lot of unnecessary visual clutter.

I don't see how any of these would help. For the last there is already a filter to remove offline players. Edit: Although they could improve that filter by allowing you to designate the amount of time offline, so 0 for only online users or 6 days or whatever.
