Better choice would be Merveil's Retainer + Diabolist for the curses. Diabolist has a huge health pool and I haven't seen it die, not even once. It also spams curses like there's no tomorrow.

Do the curses actually apply both at the same time on mobs? or do they overlap each other? i actually never looked into this.

So how do i skill Ravenous Horde with Thread of Hope? The range of thread of hope doesn't reach Ravenous Horde.

Also is Baranite cleric worth using as a spectre or not? i read that its actually not as good as we thought and gives alot less dmg and shock chance then first inticipated. Would like to hear some experts opinions on this matter!

While I haven't exactly copied the guides, my build is fairly similar and I'm easily doing T15's as well as got to Wave 20 Simulacrum (then died) on both attempts with a 5L Femur's/5L Chest while having under 5ex invested (with 3ex of that being on my large cluster jewel, which you can now often find for 2ex).
DPS isn't amazing in the higher tier maps but I at least haven't died in a long time, have never lost my AG, and RARELY ever lose a zombie. And I'm sure it'll be a lot better still with just a few more Ex and a little optimization.

For instance, with 1 more level I'll be able to pick up another jewel socket to use a 49% Chaos res Purity Watcher's Eye, then replace my Bismuth flask with an Amethyst flask (currently at -35% Chaos res without Spirit Offering up lol). I just need to find a nearby enemies are blinded chest for my AG so I can drop Sand stance to free up mana for Purity of Elements. Or I could just reroll my Lethal Pride for the points as I have a few mostly worthless passives allocated for the % Str gain to hit 1k Str.

Survivability was a pretty big issue for me until I picked up Essence Glutton/Kitava's Teachings/MoM. I'm using a Queen's Hunger chest (rather than MoS) with Desecrate in my CWC Cyclone link so there's always corpses available for Essence Glutton/Kitava's, which constantly keeps me at full mana despite running MoM with 4.2k hp/ 2.7k es/ 630 unreserved mana. It also gives my 1 Frenzy Ape and 1 Power Ape enough mana to keep full charges up without running Blood Magic.

Mapping would likely be much better if I dropped Skellies to run Auras, however I really like having my Skellies to burn down bosses + blights + simulacrum, and I haven't checked PoB yet to see how much DPS my zombies would gain from it.

Anyways, I'm rambling a bit, but the point I was trying to make is: I'm far from a newbie, though not incredibly experienced either, this is my 5th league I think, 2nd league as summoner (I skipped Metamorph unfortunately :'( that wouuld've been fun). I would agree that there are a couple meta builds right now that would likely be more beginner friendly due to lower required currency investment to faceroll content. However I don't agree that this build requires an insane amount of currency to be able to do endgame content. Just use some common sense.

You minions use your curse stack, base is 1. Which means either you have +1 to curses form passive three or gear, or you spectres will overwrite each curse each time they cast them, so its pretty useless have 2 curse spectres

your thread of hope doesnt have a big enough radius then. get one with a large ring

should be large. i was wrong when i first said veryu large. i dont have thread of hope yet but effcient training is a large radius and its radius just covers horde
