I wouldn't say so. You get some damage, resists and block chance. That's all good but nothing really OP and you need to spend 5 points and several exalts. It's an option if you prefer to go that way of course.

What about iron reflexes? From what I understand of the build, the more you block, the better. Wouldn't it be a good thing to get rid of evasion altogether? Or is it too risky?

We have very little evasion. With my gear I have 4% chance to evade. It's pointless to spend 2 points to get rid of that. We also don't have much armour so gaining 1K makes no difference whatsoever.

Thank you so much for the guide! Your explanations were good, so even though I had to modify the build for my available gear (Axe + Shield, Soultaker), I got my first ever Shaper kill with this character. I'm having lots of fun melting regular bosses, too. Take that, Shaper Guardians and Uber Izaro! =)

Nice to hear that it works for you with so different gear (and tree of course).

PoB is updated, some things definitely got moved around. Looking forward to seeing what you can do.

A quick modification, I'm sure you can do better but the difference is about as minimal as I'm capable of getting. Lost some bleed damage somewhere, but other than that almost no difference. Maybe you can optimize it better :)

Can i leaguestart with this in 3.9? I really wanna play a bladestorm character, nice guide btw
