Cyclone

On the locked movement thing, Cyclone actually behaves exactly like the D2-whirlwind in that matter. However, the D2 whirlwind did enough damage to kill everything except physical immune mobs easily. :(

not exaclty. the d2 whirlwind could make realy short whirls, which were the most effektiv.

triwhirls around the enemy = meatgrinder

Firstly i was shocked about the dps tooltip , it was 170 dps . For comparison my cleave , double strike does ~2300dps. After a bit of testing and leveling i agree with some points of the posts above.
- the skill needs free movement after desync fix
- more area radius or better access to nodes in the passive tree of dualists/ranger

But the dmg is nice for me now with 1h/shield and im only at lvl 8 cyclone The mobility is a big advantage vs cleave. The mana cost is the highest in my setup , 4 linked 70 mana and its no problem for me , even with 3 auras and only 147 mana left. 3% mana leech keep it up. As i said , the biggest advantage is the mobility and thats why i prefer cyclone over cleave.

Cyclone is a joke plain and simple.
The new melee skill that should help melee builds more or less turns out to be terrible in its current state.

Its quite a mystery how ,for example, when Chain and Fork were released they literally just destroyed any other support gems like Pierce or LMP/GMP and yet when a new melee skill is introduced its just abysmal.

He probably means in classic and forgot that it was changed (improved) later so you could do the dance of death.
I was expecting a simple hold down right mouse button and let the exile follow my cursor around. IMO, the rate GGG is making skills is absurdly high. I'd very much prefer one quality skill being released every 1-2 months.

What I find a bit strange is the lack of response of GGG about all the comments/issues/bugs

yeahe... one good skill per month >> 4 crap skills per month

I tried really hard to like this skill, and was very excited about its release so I could use it with my Shadow dual dagger/crit build. I have two major concerns after playing around with this skill; the dps, and the mana cost.

At 35% damage effectiveness and a base mana cost of 30 I could pump the dps up significantly more than it started at, but it made the cost of casting it not worth it. Still, despite all the pumping with support gems, lightning strike did considerably more damage per hit with having no support gems, no passives on lightning damage (all physical), and its mana cost was about 1/5 that of cyclone.

I think i will be sticking with lightning strike. As far as I am concerned, I do not see a viable use for cyclone, at least for me, on any of my builds. If I am not using daggers or claws there are already better aoes, that do more damage, and cost much less to cast.

It does look cool, but that doesnt say much about its effectiveness.

They released incinerate in fail mode and buffed it the next week, Im sure the same process will follow with cyclone.

GGG..I need a reason to use cyclone besides the fact that it is cool.

Please fix this.

This really sums it all up.

They're giving us a new, shiny toy that looks really cool, but it turns out to be a second hand toy which will break after playing with it for ten minutes.
I thought they were going to make a pure melee skill. And yet again, another skill that's going to the elemental build.

There is no way I can keep the 30 mana cast with an melee physical mana character. They need to upgrade mana leech to make it more reliable or add some skills like reduce mana reserves as keystones by the duelist area.

Why can't i make the typical S&S WW Barb without it completely sucking and lacking?
