[3.7] [Updated] Cold Scourge Arrow CI Trickster - Very simple and tanky
So I was working on small changes and tidying in the build.
I decided to take Fangs of the Viper for some extra dex and 5% inc move speed (move speed nodes are always nice QoL). I also moved Curse on Hit setup to body, thanks to this I can also socket Vaal Discipline to Increased Duration. Thanks to this I decided to drop Vaal Grace, as Vaal Discipline is now a lot better and we can have it more often (no soul splitting between 2 gems). This also means that now body should be 5 linked (not linking Vaal Discipline to Inc Duration is fine, so 4 links are enough) but also requires 4 off-colors. This can be easily done with Jewellers method, but again, with 4 links just socket Blood Rage to body for less off-coloring instead of Discipline and just put Discipline to boots. Another benefit of these changes is that now we can move also Blood Rage to Body with 6 sockets and run for example enlighten in boots to free some mana, and also that now we can craft Aspect of Spider on boots without increasing its mana reservation (I believe @zaklanoceljade will like this change a lot :D). I also decided to replace Flame Dash with Blink Arrow by default in PoB (and swapped the alternative gems section) as I am running it for quite a while now and I really prefer it over Flame Dash, the clone draws aggro (after triggering Phase Run), its faster and the cooldown is irrelevant because we use Phase Run as main movement skill. Also, my action bar now looks a lot cleaner after getting rid of Vaal Grace: My builds:

I just did Mastermind with this build, was piss easy. The important thing is to never use Blood Rage during this fight (another benefit of not having it in CWDT setup anymore) :D .
I am also experimenting with Dying Sun atm for slightly more consistent single target (as pods are better spread around target) and slightly better clear in open areas. My builds:

So I think that Dying Sun is big success, or at least for me everything feels a lot smoother. Another pro is that I dont need to stand directly in the face of the boss anymore to fully utilize my previous Stibnite Flask.
With Dying Sun the overall possible DPS goes down by like 100k (because I had to remove crit craft from Diamond flask to move `of Heat` suffix there) but it's fine, I feel like this build has enough DPS anyway. Not sure if I want to update the guide with it yet, maybe I should,but Dying Sun can be quite expensive for basically just QoL boost (its totally doable to get full damage out of SA without Dying Sun on single target, its just requires a bit more effort). But I value QoL really high, I am always trying to focus on Defense > QoL > DPS, so at some point I will probably update the build with it, I just need to add alternative flask section with current setup (stibnite of heat). So as promised, updated the main thread, PoB and Web Preview with Dying Sun inclusion. Here is full changelog:
23th April 2019 - Replaced Stibnite Flask with Dying Sun - Replaced of Order suffix on Diamond flask with of Heat because of flask change - Swapped from Fangs of the Viper back to ES node - Updated alternatives section with flasks and jewels And here is updated PoB: Pastebin (Web Preview) Main thread is updated as well. I decided to also include Unnatural Instinct in alternatives section, but I did not included it in main build, because its not that good or build defining here, so its probably not worth the price unless you really want to invest into this build. Its still very good addition and we already have the "OP" unntatural instinct jewel socket on tree so why not :D My builds:

I was also experimenting with Tornado Shot version, with small adjustments to tree (3 channeling nodes are replaced with power charges and 1 MS node), quiver is Rigwalds and its using Unnatural Instinct, so its a bit more expensive than SA, and most likely also worse, but as league is kind of stale atm I am just having some fun.

would Hopeshredder bow be viable with this build at all?

" Yeah, Hopeshredder is 2nd best bow you can get for this build after crafted Rare bow like I am using. The only issue is that then using Phase Run is kind of waste, because its eating all frenzy charges for Hopeshredder, so if you plan to use Hopeshredder I would probably not use Phase Run at all, not sure. " Cool. I have a really nice 6 link Hopeshredder and I have a really good pair of boots but I’ve been stuck with 2 green, 1 red, and 1 blue gem forever trying to reroll. I may just stick with flame dash, enhance support, increase duration, and switch phase run with blink arrow. |
