The US health care/insurance industry needs to die

Boem it almost sounds like you live in south-eastern or east Europe, the way you described stuff.

Where I live, in those parts, system is falling into itself too, young doctors going to west europe as there are better conditions and higher pay and respect, together with lots of nurses quitting.

A hospital near where I live had to hire 200 nurses in bulk at once since they are understaffed with so many leaving country.

We have quality doctors, but corrupt officials running hospitals which are black hole for state money dedicated to "free healthcare".

That has resulted in waiting times of 3-24 months for some procedures or checkups which use devices like CT scans. It is not uncommon for people to die of malign diseases without their turn ever coming to be checked.

Massive overburdening (dont know if overburdening is a word) has resulted in drop of quality that expert doctors provide and very often they have to get paid under the table to work properly, while they open private offices for real quality checkups.

We have free healthcare, but incompetent politicians have made it fall into itself and become a huge source of debt, while every working citizen pays 5% more each year as they can't find a way to handle it.

One of glorious plans our healthcare minister had last year is to make special taxes on any food containing high amounts of sugar like sweets/chocolatte. Just to fill the gap, not because its needed and we aren't an obese nation.

Much used medications are 80-90% paid by state, but every year the list is getting shorter in order to save money, next to higher healthcare tax.

I only wanted to show, that "free healthcare" system, if not done well can become as bad as the paid one. I didn't use some good examples, but I don't want to get into area of personal experiences, as those only show that some doctors are bad, not the healthcare imagined on paper per se.

Anyway, in the end it all comes down to money. Money generates self-interest and I doubt that some people in US will allow their interest to be diminished, and would rather have people die than the money wheel stop spinning.
