Headhunter is for mapping. I think youll be more or less immortal in t16s with a hh so you wont rely as much on needing to hit everytime cooldown is off for leech. Youll probably have massive dmg as well from buffs so map bosses should be trivial.

Id just try to not invest in aps and just roll with what you have. Id guess youll end up with such high aps once you get rolling so youll hit soon enough either way if you hit when coc is on cd.

With Starkonja's and a 14% Cospri I would be at about 8 APS if I unspec the 5% AS node (which is a travelling node, so I can't really test it now).
So I guess I need a slower Cospri. Can't seem to craft a nice belt :(

No cooldown means CoC can trigger 6.06 times per second, so 6 APS would be great. If we get 14% better cooldown, how can 25% more APS (6 -> 7.5) be the right value?

But then the whole calculation seems to require some arcane knowledge I don't have: My Cospri's says it has 1.82 APS. So with the 300% speed of cyclone, I would expect 5.46 APS. Add 15% from tree and Starkonja's and I get to 6.279 APS. But my char details say 8.4, which is way more.
WTF is going on? What am I missing?


Cant remember the math at the top of my head but I think OP has a link to the underlying math behind coc cd.

Basically 6.06 * 1.14 for reduced cd is not 7.5. But the cooldown depends on server ticks (think ias breakpoints if you played Diablo II). So in essence 7.5 aps is optimal with 14 or more reduced cd (since it depends on server ticks it doesnt matter if you have 14 or 20 reduced cd, you wont reach the next threshold anyway).

Dont remember if 6.06 aps without rcd accounts for server lag as well, and stays a bit below the actual optimal aps

Im using a stat stick as well and I stay at about 7.5 aps. My reasoning for not going for 15 aps is because ice nova in chest had a big dps inc with the stat stick. And the chest links depend on coc cd so it will still proc as frequent but with a much higher dps

Cospris cast on crit is local and since you dual weild you switch between weapons. Half of the time you hit with cospri from now on. So youll get only half procs from cospri, but my dmg from the stat stick increased dps by 20 % for the skills socketed there. So overall the dps loss isnt as prevalent from the cospri setup. The dps increase on chest is very noticable however.

If you have life leech linked in cospris you need to consider that youll lose much leech with only half the procs.

Dont check my stat stick for advice. Bought it crafted already for much cheaper than it would be otherwise (it has spell dmg instead of spell dmg/extra chaos hybrid). I prefered to save exalts heh

- CoC has 150 msec cooldown.
- The server works in 33msec steps.
4 such steps take 132 msec, which is 88% of CoC's value. So, you need at least 12% reduced cooldown to get the cooldown to 132 msec. This translates to 7.5xx APS.
99 msec CoC cooldown (3 server ticks) would require 34% cooldown, which seems unachievable.
So, 7.5 APS is optimal.

Now I just need to understand why I have 8.4 APS in my char screen rather than the 6.3 I would expect. But: One step closer is already something...

I'm noob, but what I did and improved a lot was:

Helmet with "Nearby enemies have -9% to cold resistence" and, if possible, "% increased ice nova damage".

Rings - Mark of The Shaper + Elder Ring with Warlord's Mark (or Assassin's Mark - more offensive)

Gloves with "% increased damage with hits against chilled enemies".

You can use a tempered mind cobalt Jewel and drop lycosidae - use a "+1 to level of all cold spell Skill Gems shield" ou a foil in off hand or another cospri. Use POB.

Abyss jewel with 8% chance to gain onslaught - more speed.
how much x do i need to get this build going for t15/16 maps?

i ran your char thru pob n found if your running vaal cyclone your aps is 8.4 but if you run reg cyclone it's 6.3 strange but that's what i found
