[3.24] 🗡The Nightblade🗡Nightshade Tincture | Incorporeal | New demo video up

Use the normal BF. There is indeed no point in using the Incision version. We already get all the critical strike chance we need from the Ascendancy.

PoB 3.23 in Standard :
https://pobb.in/K_pwCtEL3Znm

With the gain of 5% more dmg per stage, and the loss of the 7th stage, DPS remains the same as in 3.22.
No other changes.

Suggestions for Affliction league

- Choose the Warden of the Maji Ascendancy, so as to use a Tincture.
- Put the Tincture in flask slot 2, life flask in slot 1 and an utility/unique flask in slot 3.
- Get a Brutal Restrain jewel of Balbala, to get The Traitor keystone (expensive : 1 divine or more)
= faster flask refill

Suggested Tinctures :

- Fulgurite : all dmg can shock
or
- Borealwood : all dmg can freeze

Explicit mods :
- Chance to gain Onslaught for 10 sec on kill
- Inc dmg against enemies on low-life.
- Inc AoE if you killed recently

With two empty flask slots, you gain 150% increased effect of Tinctures, so multiply the numbers by 2.5 (currently not calculated in PoB).
For instance, a perfect roll of "90% inc dmg against enemies on low life" becomes 225% !
That should translate to ~30% more dmg (on top of the bonuses from Ascendancy) !

On the other hand, do not use Blade Flurry of Incision. You lose a lot of DPS and you don't need the crit chance.

Good luck and have fun :)

One of these days my noob butt will have to try this build. I've been looking at it on & off for years lol. Sorry if this has been asked before, but are their any specific nodes that we should prioritize more while leveling?
Sorry if this has been asked again, but why despair on hit and not vulnerability?

Thanks, I found your commentary funny and kind. I've added it at the end of the first post.

About levelling : follow the life and dagger nodes. The dagger masteries are really powerful.

Both work well. I'll indicate this in the first post.

All the Transfigured Gems have now been updated in PoB.

First, this confirms that BF of Incision is not useful. Roughly speaking, we get half the damage compared to normal BF, and almost no bonuses against enemies on full or low life.

But I've found another skill worth testing :
Cyclone of Tumult

Per stage, you get 10% less movespeed and 25% more attack speed.

Just like BF, Cyclone of Tumult (CoT) has 6 max stages, and the numbers between the two skills are pretty much the same at each stage.

For reference with my character (in millions DPS) :
BF 1st stage and 6th : 1.8 and 3.6
CoT 1st stage and 6th : 1.9 M and 3.8

As you can see, the dmg is doubled between the 1st and 6th stages.

CoT numbers are a bit better. There is no big release like BF, but you keep a bit of movespeed, while you must remain stationary with BF.
Also, you lose stages over time with CoT, meaning you can keep 3-4 stages between packs. You don't need to start from zero each time.

So it is worth testing. I'm currently levelling a CoT gem in Standard. I will post a demo video when it's ready.

PoB with both skills :

Good luck and have fun !

Thanks for the build!

Running t15 delirium maps with a 5-link is absolutely a joy. (spent over 1000 fusion orbs on trying to 6-link but no success)

Didn't bother to go low-life as i don't understand why that would be usefull besides the curse...
Baran one shots me though, which pisses me off, did not expect that with 5k life.

Going to try a different character for the league, but this one is definetly viable for fun!

One node i think you missed is the +15% max life on having no equipped body armour with a life modifier.
Thanks ! Glad you enjoyed the build :)

Low life with Petrified does help to survive. At first, I did not believe it and though I would die all the time, but it is actually a strong defense. Ever since I've used it, I have never looked back.

I need to go back & finish leveling this build (only at lvl 56 at the moment), but it definitely taught me how to play the game during the time I was using it. During my time playing I didn't understand how you could stay in melee without too many issues, but understanding the layers of defensive mechanics really opened my eyes. One question I do have regarding this build in comparison to other melee builds like boneshatter. Boneshatter is advertised as the premiere melee skill with it's scaling. How does this build compare to boneshatter? Maybe since it's not so reliant on trauma stacking that it's a considerably better at fighting bosses perhaps?
Happy new year, Exiles !

Sorry for late answer.

This build was created before Boneshatter existed. All I can say is that it's very different from a Boneshatter build, even though it is also melee. From what I see on poe.ninja, Boneshatter is played by Slayer and Juggernaught, with a slow hitting 2-handed axe, relying on armour and leech to cure the Traumas.
On the contrary, this build hits quickly and relies on movement and spell suppression for defense.

I don't know whichever is better for bossing. It probably depends on what playstyle you prefer.
