[3.6] The Blizz Sorc - Icestorm/Winter Orb CI Occultist - Viable For Everything



They're not amazing, but the base drop of double-fractured 30 MS/50 Int was a great start. 4 Lab runs with Twice Enchanted to get the enchant right, and after ten Dense Fossils I decided to throw some random Chaos at it... and got a lot better than expected. I needed the resist (but of course the stun recovery is useless, can't have everything).

Probably worth 1-3ex to buy similar off the market, I think I made out OK

Definitely go for manually craft a prefix as you said (%increase damage). You won't get anything better with exalt slam, all the free prefix mods obtainable through an exalt slam for your ring are really bad for our build.

How can i check if a flat cold dmg mod is better not in opisition to a increased dmg mod ?

You can use Path of Building application. Import your character there and add different mods to your existing items and check the final damage values of your character for each variant.

I made some calculations with your current gear if you are not familiar with Path of Building app:

values for IceStorm (single target)
-without any mod added on that ring:
IceStorm Average hit: 28.624
-with 20% increased damage craft:
IceStorm Average hit: 29.302
- with add 12-16 cold damage craft:
IceStorm Average hit: 29.023

values for Winter Orb(5-link)
-without any mod added on that ring:
WO - total dps(10 stages): 34.664
-with 20% increased damage craft:
WO - total dps (10 stages): 35.495
- with add 12-16 cold damage craft:
WO - total dps (10 stages): 35.771

17-20% increased damage craft cost 1 exalt per try

Add (10-12) to (14-16) Cold Damage/Add (10-12) to (14-16) Fire Damage/Lightning Damage cost 3 chaos per try

The decision is yours :))

Thanks for the OP build, really enjoying it. Killed Shaper last night on first map, delve at ~270ish.
I play SSF and currently lvl95 have 1440 int / 9.7k ES. I am desperately trying to get a lvl83+ shaped Vaal Regalia now...
Did some fossil crafting, not sure if I should multi-mode (have 6 ex) this? It has two %ES prefix and one %ES delve suffix.

Also

damn that low ES roll, only a suffix available.

With multimod on those boots you can get maximum +30 intelligence (suffix) and 24% movement speed (prefix) and this assuming you have some divines to burn.
You won't get any resistances also this way.

For a non SSF league this option is bad if you ask me but keeping in mind that you are SSF would be an option to take in consideration.

So for me the benefit isnt so big in boss dmg and i think that 300 dmg more dont save me really :-)
And wo the dmg is higher
so i will try with 12-16 best values.

Just so you know for the next time, do this search https://www.pathofexile.com/trade/search/Synthesis/PQoDZMHL and buy whichever ones are reasonably priced (2c or less.)

In both leagues, it's taken me ~20 chests to get the 6% increased attributes craft.
Just took down Uber Elder for the first time ever (first season im playing this game).
