[3.6] The Blizz Sorc - Icestorm/Winter Orb CI Occultist - Viable For Everything

Thanks for the build, I am enjoying it so far and it is doing its job as a league starter for me.

Is there any way to add just a bit of Mana Leech to this build? If so, what would be the most painless way? I have a pool of 191 mana to play with right now with all the aura reservations, and I'm not even using Bonechill. It's enough, and my mana regen is really high, but when I'm casting for a while I usually end up running out. To counter that I've been using a mana flask which I would like to swap out with maybe a Wise Oak soon.

I probably wouldn't need too much mana leech, just a tad bit so, any advice on that?

"(0.5-0.6%)Mana leech from damage" boots lab enchant from Merciless or Uber Lab or "-mana cost of skills" craft-able prefix mod for rings.

iam using Brinerot Whalers - those boots fit into this build very good. Any reason speaks against that?
Just switched to ES and CI at level 75, FeelsGoodMan!

Before I was on 2.7k HP with 4-socket Whispering Ice and somehow managed to do A10 Kitava deathless, monster level 60 Delves (for chaos recipe) and T1 maps without dying - if you're in that situation, the key is to use Life Leech, Vitality and Arctic Armour and you'll be fine.

I had a budget of 50 chaos which was all the currency I had, and ended up with this gear coming in at 48 chaos total:
Spoiler

Staff not shown; I bought it for 7 chaos on day 2 or 3 of the league (because I'm a filthy casual and was still leveling at the time).

Now.. just need to run Merc lab (should be EZ mode), keep getting those ES nodes on the tree and I'll be blazing through maps in no time!
Timezone: GMT +10 (Australia). CASUAL player but I play whenever I can.

Boots are ok for start and yellow tier mapping but not an end-game solution in my opinion because they lack any form of intelligence and are not high movement speed also!

thank you ;)

They don't have an intelligence, any item that don't have an intelligence in it isn't "fit into build", and expecially not "fit very good".

If you ask, if it's ok to use them - sure. But not more than use any available piece with MS and some res on it.
If anything, it will truly "fit" to phys ranged CI build :)
Sin trek is better alternative, if you have level for it. It cost nothing and grant us almost everything that we want - high ES, 30% MS, some int. You can easily go into red maps with it.

Edit: Oh, just checked price of sin trek, 12c for pretty bad roll... Hm... I guess, i'm retracting previous statement, sin trek is hella expensive this league :)
Still need to change brinerot into something, but don't know if sin trek with such price worth it... Maybe it will fall after several days.

Is there a way to reduce the time between the beginning of a cast and the time it takes to get the first channel of IceStorm? So far that's the only thing that makes the build feel a little off for me.
It takes about a full second from when I start the channel till the first icicles fall.

Nope. Welcome to CwC builds ;)

Keeping in mind that now we have also regen from ZO and and regen on kill from Occultist Ascendancy and our max lech rate is lower, Kelvynn, do you think a Watcher's Eye with 30% ES recovery with Discipline is a better choice than Es gain on hit with Discipline ?

Es recovery WE is now 2.5 EX just sold the Kaom and i have that currency should i go for it or wait to get more currency for WE with ES gain on hit ?

I'm not sure right now. Obviously, for single target ES recovery is more valuable. But most of the play time you clear trash. And that is hard to evaluate right now because SC is broken. I personally would settle for either of the two options to start with. And then start looking for the 2-mod.

personally im going with ES on hit for mapping, and that sweet 180% es max leech with zealotry, for bosses, already brouhgt hubris head with 15% reduced zealotry mana res, planing on going with that mana reservation nodes in templar area and go zeal + AA + disci, but thats just a fun side project, killed uber elder with "stock" build settings :)

Sometimes I want to go with the craziest, rarest, most expensive options, but then I remember that I have to stay in the 'everybody can get this' field and keep the build realistic for more than just a few people...
