There are high level options at the end of the leveling guide. 1 more socket for more Int (4 points), Arcane Will (2 points), Soul Thief (2 points), and you are lv 98.

- Increasing the leech cap from 20% to 30% is a big deal.
- I forgot about Arcane Will. Sure, it's a high level option to get more ES.

Hi there. I tried your build on Betrayal league ( Ascendant option). Beginning was horrible, worst experience with lvl up I ever had. In time got pretty nice though. This league I will try winter orb option, hope it will go a bit more smoothly.

Can you tell us why it was horrible for your, maybe tell us which levels were so bad?
Leveling is pretty much the same for both variants of the build imho, only occultist has it easier to go CI due to the flat ES it can get from ascendancies. I.e. you can use worse gear with less ES and still switch.

My only question about leveling is this.

Can someone tell me in detail how to level beyond level 40 without Whispering Ice? or can you get whispering ice so quickly that these questions don't have any merit? (talking about plainly the first day of the new league.)

Whispering Ice can be bought for 1-2 chaos at the start of the league. Since you only really need 2 links at first it's really easy to get WI at level 30 ish. Granted you got 2 chaos of course.

Well you need to pay attention to your gear to have int. Low dmg, low life and you die very easily at the beginning.For me Syndicate was pain in the ass, so I avoided it, when I could. You really need all int for this build to work. I've taken staff as fast as I could and later on Astramentis. It was huge boost for me.

If you want to storm the ladder on night 1 of the league, or get to Kitava 10 in 4 hours after leaguestart, this build is not for you.

Then you need to continue with freezing pulse or winter orb up to Kitava.

It's a build which is defined by a unique, the build without that unique is not possible.

However, as written above, the staff can be bought on day one for a chaos or two.

Yes, INT is life and damage and life again basically :)
Icetomb is important for leveling. Cheap throwaway unique with lots of int. Another item is perandus blazon belt. Could cost a bit more than Icetomb due to +all attributes and +IIQ, but should still be affordable.
Same on everything else: if you are hurting, look for an item, any item, with +intelligence that is cheap (alch or such).

If you still don't have the staff by the time you hit lv 39:

Keep going with Winter Orb until you get the staff. Links: Winter Orb - CwC - Freezing Pulse - GMP. Take a 30 Dex node (Agility) to be able to use GMP.

Once you reach Act 6, you can farm The Incantation card in A6 Western Forest, but this is just an SSF option. You really should be able to buy the staff by then.

Would this build also work as Inquisitor ( chaos innoc as well) with the recent changes to consecrated ground being created just by standing still ( which you are as you channel). Being in it also makes you immune to all elemental ailments.
Also get 200 ES regen from the ascendancy when standing in it.
