I leveled mine to 20 for increased movement speed since the mana cost doesn't scale.

Personally I check for 17%+ quality around a chaos when I am leveling.

If I can't find any early on I don't bother since it isn't too hard to get level 20 gems and use the 1 GCP 20% quality recipe.

Once I hit 20/20 I corrupt and then repeat the process.

Spectres and Desecrate need to be 19+ for minion levels. You have flexibility on every other gem level, but if your Spectres are low level you can't map so level them up on weapon swap first.

If you can't easily get gems to level 20 your other gear needs more attention first. Quality definitely adds up, but with 500%+ minion damage there's better ways to spend currency. Minion damage sceptres or spectres boots will provide more damage than quality combined.

Shield Charge's mana used to increase by leveling it, but now it's always a base 8 with movement speed that scales 75-94%. The only concern with leveling it is being mindful of your strength since 20 requires 155. Quality only gives damage so just use the highest level your strength affords.
Why wouldn't this build take elemental equilibrium? It seems like a really easy damage boost. Also, why do we use the elemental weakness curse instead of flammability? Solar Guards use only fire spells, right?

I have a question. i always see that tukohama vanguards are the single target dps spectre. yet even with perfect setup (24 schorching ray stages, burning damage, minion damage, swift affliction, elemental focus, minion ele resist)they show way less dps in Path of building then solar guards under the same circumstances. Is there hidden dps ?

Eleweakness is same damage in pob, and it makes you more flexible too.
I do, but it's mostly an end-game choice. For the most game it's not really needed. It also requires selfcasting or additional non-fire damage somewhere for shield charge

I'm personally using projectile weakness since it offers 10-11.5% more damage taken over ele/flammability due to quality and also gives me piercing for free.

Okay sure.



1. Bought a cheap rare chest with +1 spectre and preferably only 4 affixes overall(I waited for decent armor/es ones to show up but you can get other ones too)

2. Annulled the chest to get rid of the non spectre affixes

3. Repeat until you get a rare chest with only +1 spectre (25% chance with 4 affixes. I got it on my third attempt so it cost me 6 annulls and 3 chests ala 10-30 chaos for a total of around one ex).

4. Multimod it and put on your prefered crafts (life, %life, double resists). Still have one slot open on mine until I decide what res I want or if it's worth trying to get a veiled mod.

5. (optional) Divine until you get good/perfect rolls. I guess I was kind of lucky since I got 85 life + 8% life after only 6 divines.

6. (optional) Put on 28% quality with a hillok bench and 6 link with fusings or recipe and get atleast one white socket so you can swap GMP to controlled destruction for tough bosses to double spectre damage.

Overall cost was around 1 ex for the base +1 spectre chest, then 2 ex for crafts and another half ex for divines. Also around 3 ex worth of fusings but that can obviously vary depending on your 6link luck.
So ~6-7 ex for a perfect spectre chest that is probably worth 15-20 ex on poetrade.




This one is really straight forward.
1. Find a sceptre with only minion damage + random prefix.
If you don't find one of those, buy some with another affix and anull them until you are left with one that has minion damage and one prefix at most.

2. Multimod and put all the stuff you want on it. Trigger and minion castspeed are essential, but the last prefix is up to you (max mana, chance to bleed/poison/blind for example).

3. (optional) Divine until 15% cast speed + good minion damage roll.

Cost 30-100c depending on your luck with finding a good base. I bought a cheap 2 affix sceptre for like 30c so didn't have to bother with annulling. 2 ex for the crafting and you should get 15% castspeed and decent minion damage within a couple of divines so maybe 2.5 ex overall.
