{3.10} Speaker for the Dead | The Mass Minion Summoner | League Starter, Leveling Guide 💀

Dear Hercanic,

I'm not by any means an expert player but here are my two cents on the build in general.

1. I love the fact that you don't need ubergear to get far with this build
I've gotten a long way with just plain rares and gradually upgraded into the gear you've shown in your guide.

2. this build is amazing!

3. I don't think there was a section about anointments in the guide (up until now I'm using Ravenous Horde as anointment) Will this be included in the future?

4. Are enchantments a big deal for summoners? Do I need to spend time in the labyrinth? (btw Uber lab was a breeze, no trouble at all)

5. Ascendancies : I went for this : mindless agression - Bone barrier - unnaturel strength - commander of darkness (I was also considering mistress of Sacrifice) Any thoughts on the order?
Bone barrier is a must have!

6. Did I already say that this build is amazing?

Well, I'm progressing further into the the game , doing tier 10+ rather easy
I can handle all map mods (but I watch out for no life or mana regen ones)

Thanks for reading :)
Heranic

Im stuck since the stated acendancies are not in the game anymore. Where are the updated acendancies?

I've been looking for an hour now pouring over comments and the different texts.

Edit I found it on page 137 where you answered that question. You also explained that it was near the PoB, however all I see there are the same old acendancies.

To Others who also can't find it:

"1. Mistress of Sacrifice - To take advantage of ES heals from CWDT + Spirit Offering. Duration means longer Vaal Skeletons.
2. Mindless Aggression - No choice, our other picks are behind this one. Provides great movement speed, though.
3. Bone Barrier - Incredible defense. We'll want that phys reduction and recovery rate to protect us in Uber Lab.
4. Unnatural Strength - It's tempting to take this earlier, to hit minion breakpoints sooner. I prioritized defense, but you are free to go for this earlier if you're fine with taking more risk." - Heranic

still going with the 3.8 version, but how do we look with awakened added chaos, since they are adding 1+ to supported active skills?

Added Flat Damage isn't great for most of our minions, who have high base damage to start. Added Damage scales best for Raging Spirits, Animated Weapons, and Carrion Golems, who have low base damage. Phantasms have a hidden multiplier for Added Damage, so it's decent on them. Skeletons also have a multiplier, but even with that it still doesn't work out very well.

Chaos Damage is the worst type for us, because we don't scale it. It won't benefit from EE or Maim, nor will it be scaled by any damage-specific supports like Melee Physical Damage or Elemental Army, and it'll be hit by 30% boss resistance.

+1 is nice, but on its own it's just ~11% more damage and life, and possibly a break-point depending on the minion.

At a cursory glance, it's not worth it for us.

updated acendancies?

I'll be amending the guide to:

1. Mindless Aggression

2. Bone Barrier - Solves early resistance issues. Bone Armour doubles your effective life at low level. Phys reduction and regeneration help with later Labs.

3. Mistress of Sacrifice - Triggering Spirit Offering with CWDT and CwC Cyclone offers so much ES healing that you can simply stand within a medium-sized pack of monsters indefinitely without dying. Spirit Offering also helps cover any resistance shortcomings when first moving into maps after Kitava.

4. Unnatural Strength

In case you missed it, there's a link at the top of the original post that sends you to where I go over 3.9. From there, you can follow another link to the 3.8 build, or take a gander at the Charity Triad variant that will become the basis for the 3.9 rewrite.

I play "pseudo-SSF", where I do trade on occasion, but not much. As a result, I rarely exceed more than a handful of pure Exalts. So what I buy has to be cheap! =o)

anointments

Yes, they'll be in the 3.9 rewrite. Until then, check out my reply @ xaeror35.

enchantments

Nothing big.

Gloves: of the Grave (Icy Raging Spirits). They're minions, so they scale with all our minion stuff and actually deal decent damage. In the Charity Triad variant, they can do 203k each, or 609k for all three Spirits. They have a cooldown of 5 seconds, and last 5 seconds. Since we have 70% duration from Mistress of Sacrifice, they end up lasting 8.5 seconds, allowing us to have six out at a time. That's a peak of 1.2M DPS against a single target.

Boots: 10% movement speed or 2% life regen. Dodge is also fine.

Helm: A good helm is better for us than any enchantment, and rolling one that works will be sheer luck. The Original FAQ has a list, but it's out of date.

Skeletons deal 40% increased Damage
40% chance to Summon an additional Skeleton Warrior with Summon Skeleton

Spectres have 40% increased Damage
Spectres have 12% increased Attack and Cast Speed

Raised Zombies deal 40% increased Damage
Raised Zombies have 15% increased Attack Speed

Spirit Offering grants +12% of Physical Damage as Extra Chaos Damage

150% increased Effect of the Buff granted by your Chaos/Carrion Golems

Summoned Holy Relics have 24% increased Area of Effect
Summoned Holy Relics have 100% increased Buff Effect

Desecrate Spawns 3 additional corpses

Ball Lightning fires an additional Projectile

Triad Grip build:
Smoke Mine grants additional 30% increased Movement Speed
30% increased Smoke Mine Duration

15% increased Whirling Blades Attack Speed

36% increased Phase Run Duration
30% chance for Phase Run to increase Duration without removing Frenzy Charges

Dash travels 100% increased distance
Dash has +2 Cooldowns

commander of darkness

Not worth it if you aren't stacking auras and aura effect.

Did you catch the 3.9 update and 3.8 build page? Mistress of Sacrifice with Spirit Offering is a key defensive component of the latest build.

I wouldn't think the summon additional skeleton, spirit offering, or desecrate enchantments are even very useful for us; if looking for a good enchant, I'd aim for one of the others. (But obviously it depends how much lab you want to run!)
I beg to differ about the enchantment choice, as we don't suffer from a lack of damage output (doing T15s and not struggling at all), only trouble I had was against Acid Caverns Boss that purely melt our minions... but managed to do it like you can do the HoGM : neverending summon skeletons. They'll break through.
Point is, i'd go for a defensive one : Desecrate bonus corpses, if I had a chance to pick one easily, or maybe Ball Lightning additionnal projectile for an even better spread and source of ES with the Discipline Watcher's Eye.

Question about the glove enchant 'of the grave' : is there a difference between any of them ? The description is the same for every version, only the required level change (from 32 to 75).

@Hercanic : Did I miss something ? :)

But desecrate already spawns 5 corpses, and spirit offering won't consume more than 5 corpses at a time. Adding more corpses to Desecrate doesn't actually benefit us.
Then I must say I didn't learned my lessons right, thank you mate.
