" " " " Hah, thanks for the vote of confidence! I do actually design games. " I first considered making a new thread when I ran out of room for the Leveling Guide and FAQ. It'd let me reserve the first couple of pages for future expansion, and I wouldn't need to off-link anything. However, it'd also mean giving up the current post and view count, which serves as a point of pride for build creators like myself. (1.7M views, whoo!) It's hard to let go of, since it can be one of the determining factors in which build someone chooses (popular/proven). In short, I'm on the fence. @ Apsiu:

" " Not yet. I just had the one map and haven't purchased another for Infernal Skitterbot testing. Here's an update on the donation situation, but in short if you want to kick one over that'd be appreciated! @ hugomaestrelo: " Triad = ~45-80% more damage, but we lose our Cyclone setup. You can find a sneak peek PoB link to a 2H Triad build I'm working on here. Last edited by Hercanic#3982 on Oct 21, 2019, 6:58:28 PM

Hi i am using Armageddon Brand to proc EE for Slave Drivers so far,if i want to switch to Cyclone + Fortify Boots, whats the best 4-link to proc EE?
P.S X% of Lightning Damage is Leeched as Energy Shield while affected by Wrath. What does this mean when my minions deal damage? 1. Minions and i both leeched nothing. 2. Minions leeched Energy Shield. 3. I leeched the energy shield for myself(which i don't think so). Sorry if the question has been asked before or already answered and thanks again for the awesome guide! |

" " " " " There are changes. Check out my profile, I am using Cold Triad Grip in Blight League. Character: Hegemon_of_the_Dead " Yes. Their special AOE cooldown skill, Slam, makes it less important, but Melee Splash is still useful. Because of how Strike attacks interact with Melee Splash, proccing on every monster a strike passes through, Zombies can deal exponential damage to clustered enemies like Blight lanes (I talk more about this in the 3.8 Update's FAQ). I also highly recommend Melee Splash for Skeletons (when not facing Uber Elder and such). @ KoharaKazamasa:

" " You can also use Avatar of Fire and then whatever spell you want, including Storm Brand, for one passive point. " You can add Fire Damage to your Attacks, such as on your weapon, a ring, or an Abyssal Jewel. Then Cyclone itself can trigger EE. This would allow you to use CwC with Desecrate and Spirit Offering to constantly trigger the ES heal. If you want EE while clearing, Ball Lighting with Avatar of Fire is great when paired with Life on Spell Hit and ES on Hit (Watcher's Eye for the Discipline aura). You can also use an Abyssal Jewel that adds Fire Damage to Spells and then use any Chaos or Physical Spell, like Soulrend. It won't provide nearly as much recovery as the other two options, especially against bosses, but it's pretty fun for map clearing. " Watcher's Eyes do not affect your auras. They provide buffs on you, and you alone, that activate while you are affected by their specified aura(s). The auras don't even have to be your own, they can also come from an ally. So no, minions will not benefit from a Watcher's Eye. Last edited by Hercanic#3982 on Oct 15, 2019, 3:27:17 PM

So call me a semi-noob here, I've never played a summoner, but was kinda meh on the LLRF Guardian I started the season with, so I'm giving this build a try. Had a few questions (of course).
(1) Any particular reason why a claw over other weapons (ignoring Scourge/Fang)? Is it for the life/mana on hit? As a noob to the build, am I better off running Scourge? (2) How do we feel about the Stampede boots? It removes the loss of speed from Cyclone, and though 150% is still lower than Quicksilver/Adrenaline/Silver + Cyclone, it means never worrying about your flasks being out. Also, extra annointment. Thoughts? (3) Any reason why you take EE so late? It seems like Ball Lightning is going to make it worth it once you get Cyclone going, so long as your minions are doing cold or fire (or both) damage. Edit: (4) Is the POB damage shown *per minion*? Because if so, whoa, multiplying those numbers out makes a big difference... Last edited by Kirian42#6752 on Oct 15, 2019, 4:51:44 PM

" Hello, Semi-Noob. 1.any weapon with good stats\buffs\prefixes is good, if you can use it with Cyclone Convoking Wands has VERY good "minions" buffs, but you can't use them with Cyclone. 2.Stampede boots good and why not take them, if you already got cap resistances and high hp\es. You can even anoint them. 3. Sometimes the thing of EE slip away from me. I don't even need EE on map clearing. But it surely help on bosses. Last edited by Singrave#2968 on Oct 15, 2019, 5:36:35 PM

" " Claw is preferred due to its useful implicit (flat Life Gain on Hit is great with Cyclone), high base attack speed (1.5), and hybrid stat requirements (212 STR or DEX would be a pain). However, any melee weapon with plenty of support mods will work fine. Just make sure to exclude any that add cold damage or % phys as cold so you don't screw over your Elemental Equilibrium. Boiled down, all we want is a melee weapon for Cyclone that maximizes our Zombies with minimal actual sockets.
Example weapons
Most of these have EDWA support because I'm doing a Cold Triad Grip variant in Blight, so EDWA becomes a great support when all my minions' damage is converted to elemental. " Mobility flasks are faster overall, and we don't gain much from dropping Quicksilver, but if you hate using flasks then by all means save your fingers with Stampede. However, it'll cost flat life and resists, among other things. The anointment, while great, won't make up for 80-100 flat life, 80-120%+ resistances, lab enchantment, and Fortify mod (or 12% Attack/Spell Dodge). If, instead of an exotic anointment like Soul of Steel or Cleansed Thoughts, we tried to save points by anointing Gravepact, Death Attunement, or Ravenous Horde, we could gain back 4-7 passive points. Though we'd lose ~34% minion damage. If we went with Ravenous Horde, we could use those 7 points to take a trip down to Warrior's Blood. We'd gain 20% life (=400 life @2k flat), 40 STR, 20 flat life (40 w/STR = 120 life @200% life), 1.8% regen (=108 life/s @6k), and 20% stun threshold (life counts as 1.2 against a stun). But we'd lose 18% minion movement speed (important for melee minions), 5% minion attack/cast speed, 18% minion damage, and Wicked Ward (uninterruptible ES recharge). In the end, you'd gain ~200 life over normal boots, but lose fort (unless Kingmaker) or 12% dodge; a Stone Golem's worth of regen, but no Wicked Ward and a weaker Spirit Offering heal; a fast cyclone and an extra 1-2 flask slots, but can never move faster than 50%; better cooldown recovery on Flame Dash or Dash, but weaker minions, more pressure for res on other slots, and no lab enchantment (10% movespeed, 2% regen, 10% attack dodge, or 8% spell dodge). " I explain why in the 3.8 Leveling Guide: " " Yep. =o) Minions are kind of like a natural Intensify Support. When our minions spread out they act like AOE, and when there's only one target they dogpile and act as a Concentrated Effect. In terms of damage, minions are like other multi-hit spells, but with chunkier base damage that's simpler to scale with a lower DPS/gear ceiling. This is because there's traditionally been less ways to scale up their crit, attack/cast speed, base damage, conversion, etc. Last edited by Hercanic#3982 on Oct 15, 2019, 8:33:40 PM

Okay one big question, if i switched to slave drivers from frozen sentinil's, put in boots Cyclone - CwC - Descerate - Spirit Offering, took Avatar of Fire in passive tree, have "adds # to # fire damage to attacks" in my ring just to be sure, then what gloves should i use? :P
Also should i lvl up Descerate and Spirit Offering when i no longer use CwDT? Big thanks for this build my guy! |
