[3.10] OneShotKill Elemental Hit Ballista Hiero - 9.6 million DPS - EZ Boss Killer + budget friendly

Hey Vei,

What are your thoughts on dumping the Skitterbots and maxing Precision?

The build is still solid this league, I like the AC route. It makes life a lot easier.

Thanks!

Folks, do we have updated POB for 3.12?

Also wondering if we can have complete separate post rather than start from 173?

Hey Ahewaz,

That's not a good idea, let's a take a look why it is so:

Level 20 Precision
- You and nearby allies gain +701 to Accuracy Rating
- You and nearby allies gain 58% increased Critical Strike Chance

For Accuracy Rating, We can get up to 600 on Gloves from just 1 Affix.

As for increased Critical Strike Chance, it's one of the weaker affixes as can be seen on "21. Stats in order of DPS boost" where I ranked the individual affixes.

which means Precision is not a very strong gem in terms of the benefits it provides. The main use/benefits for using Precision is more for the Watcher's Eye Precision mods which unfortunately, the strongest one(50% Crit Multi) got nerfed this league.

Summon Skitterbot

- Shocking Skitterbot's Aura Shocks Enemies near it
- Chilling Skitterbot's Aura Chills Enemies near it

Elemental Hit gets "10% more(Multiplicative) Damage per Elemental Ailment on the Enemy" and Skitterbots provides 2 Elemental Ailment through Chill and Shock. Shock itself also provides another 15% increased damage taken(Multiplicative)

That's a lot of damage boost compared to the very small amount from Precision.

Thus no reason to dumping Skitterbot for a Level 20 Precision.

Hi all,

It's been just over a week since i played this league(started 2 days late since i was depressed that GGG gutted the Soul Mantle), and what can i say, this build is a blast. I am cutting through T16 maps like butter and have just killed Awakener 7 (need one more watch stones for 8). This is the first time i have killed Sirus, and with the totem playstyle, it's very easy to learn the fight!

My gear above is now at 855k POB dps(almost 6 million total dps for all 7 totems) and i am pretty much satisfied as it being my league starter and map farmer. I was gladly surprised that i managed to hit the 835k in Vei's 3.12 POB considering my gear are all slightly worst :D

There are still some easy dps that i can get to put me over 1 million, such as:

1. corrupting the kaoms,
2. changing to double opals for full dps rings as well as
3. speccing my flasks for damage (bottled faith and wise oak).

My flasks specced for speed farming so i will be stopping my journey to min maxing here. I also do not want to spend more( i think my whole set up is about 8-10 exalts) and will be finding a build specially made for boss killing to spend my currency.

Big thanks to Vei for the detailed and easy to use guide, especially the equipment guide. Makes gear progression realy smooth and exciting (all those frostferno corrupts!) Hope to use this again as league starter next league!

Thanks for giving this build a chance/try! May you find the perfect build for boss killing :)

Yes, there is a 3.12 updated POB at Page 173.

Sorry there are no plans to create a new post for now. I am planning to play the upcoming World of Warcraft Expansion so its very possible that I might not have the time to maintain the guide from the looks of it, therefore not much reason to create a new one.

Edit(30th Sept 2020): Maybe I'll create one before 3.13 Launch, depending on how into WOW i am at that time.

Thanks! Hope you have fun in WoW. I have not played since it first came out centuries ago lol.

I am looking forward to Balder's Gate 3. They just delayed the release though. I guess it gives me a chance to get more achievements.

Guys has this already been mentioned buy why don't we use replica quill rain so we have no penalty? We don't care about the arrow nova right? We can just use same links anyway since its only curse links?

Replica Quill Rain doesn't have the penalty but it's attack speed has been reduced from the Original 100% to 30%(At Max) which results in lesser DPS when compared to the Original Quill Rain so it's only the 3rd/4th best Bow choice for us.

I also kind of want to try out Baldur's Gate 3..... /looks at my Baldur's Gate 1/2 Enhanced Edition waiting for me to play :P Guess I will try BG3 out after I finish 1 and 2 haha... By then BG3 should be discounted a bit ;)

Enjoy your Baldur's Gate 3!

Hello!

First off, many thanks to Vei, for providing his tree and concept of the build.

I first came across this on Day 3 of Heist when I was looking for a niche budget build that I could min-max to bulldoze through content. Saw the steamroll potential in this build so I decided to try it out with my own tweaks.

Some background: I'm an avid glass cannon player, most of my builds are tweaked to average out at 3k - 4k lifem so that I can have much more DPS on a low budget. I'm used to being able to survive with a lower life pool, but this usually is not suitable for most players, so don't attempt all of my tweaks unless you're comfortable with having below-average life. At the time of writing, I'm level 97 with 4k life, #1 on DPS for Elemental Hit Hierophants on poe.ninja.

My approach was to have steady DPS without as much reliance on periodical buffs like Vaal Haste while also avoiding Marylene's Fallacy to have more consistent (albeit slightly weaker) crits. I'm still using Vaal Haste for map bosses in general, of course.

1. Toss Kaom's Heart, use a Rare Elder/Hunter chest with "Attacks have +1.40% ~ 1.50% to Critical Strike Chance", preferably with 80++ Life.
If you have a spare prefix on the chest available, you can craft the "8% increased maximum life" mod to further reduce the health difference vs a Kaom's.

2. With the 6(potentially) additional sockets available, you can run Flesh and Stone, Clarity, Wave of Conviction linked to a Trap support, and 2 remaining sockets to use at your disposal.

Flesh and Stone(Sand Stance) provides a 11% less damage taken by all enemies outside of the circle, while also blinding all enemies inside it. Blinded enemies have their hit chance halved, effectively boosting our evade chance to 50% against nearby enemies without any evasion flasks or investment.

Clarity provides flat mana regen rather than % mana regen(That'll get converted into rage regen), so it helps sustain our mana pool even in less regen maps.(Still need a mana flask to do no-regen maps though)

Wave of Conviction for -25% fire resistance exposure.

As for the remaining 2 sockets, I used one for Second Wind on my movement skill(Dash), and another for an Ice Golem for additional 30% accuracy and 30% critical strike chance.
I'd recommend getting an Anomalous Ice Golem for 20% increased buff effect at 20% quality.

3. Onslaught on Hit Ring
Particularly in Heist league, Onslaught on Hit rings are much cheaper than usual, making it viable on a budget.
Go for a lower item level of 68 - 70 so it doesn't cost you an arm and a leg, and craft it with essences or fossils or however you prefer.
Opal Ring for the 2nd ring slot is still BiS, provided you can cap/balance your resistances.

4. +1 Fire/Cold/Lightning Amulet with 30%++ Critical Strike Multiplier
Due to the much higher effective critical strike chance you'll have now, 30%++ critical strike multiplier is equivalent/better than +1 Dexterity gems, so this amulet is effectively a +2 while not costing as much.

5. Rare gloves with the essentials and a prefix available to craft +1 Projectile Pierce
Essentials being ~400 accuracy rating, attack speed and life.
This'll free up your boots slot for better choices like a Tailwind on Critical Strike, or just a regular pair of rare boots with the "Damage Penetrates 10% Elemental Resistances if you haven't killed Recently" enchant.

6. The Wise Oak, Bismuth Flask
This is a cheap flask that gives a lot of damage and mitigation on it's own, provided that you're willing to balance your resistances.
Since we have 76% fire resistance, I balanced my cold and lightning resistances instead so I take 10% reduced Cold and Lightning damage during the flask effect, while having an additional 10 - 15% Fire penetration.

7. Jewel with Critical Strike Multiplier to Elemental/Fire/Cold/Lightning Skills
With the loss of Marylene's, and the high effective critical chance you now have, Critical Strike Multiplier becomes the biggest DPS boost.
But you might have to settle for a 3-point Jewel Socket, since all the 2-point sockets have been taken.
So you might need to get a 3-line Critical Strike Multiplier jewel to make it skillpoint-efficient for the socket, meaning the jewel is gonna cost you an exalt on average. Not a very important upgrade until you've hit level ~95 where you're more or less finished with % damage nodes.

8. Soul of Lunaris
An underrated Pantheon power.
Particularly used for her upgrades, 10% chance to avoid Projectiles, and avoids Projectiles that have Chained.
Avoidance is another layer of defense on top of dodge and evasion, so it's more effective when you already have dodge + evasion(Indirectly from Flesh and Stone's blind)
Projectiles are not specific, so this applies to both spell and attack projectiles, making this very powerful in surviving off-screen packs of Vaal Constructs.
Chaining projectiles that land on your ballistas/golem can chain towards you, making you take the damage alongside your totems/golem.
Avoiding Chained projectiles aren't as vital, but it will allow you run maps with "Monsters skills chain 2 additional times" without taking unneccessary damage.

In all my tweaks I try to keep the total cost of the build below 10 ex, for cost efficiency's sake.
To track of my investment into the build, I have been keeping a list of my spendings in the Notes tab of my PoB.

I have included two Item sets in my PoB, one with my gears <10 ex investment, and one with my current gear(Mainly a bottled faith).

My PoB: https://pastebin.com/3anTbasq

Remaining upgrades I have yet to implement:
- Awakened Hextouch for an additional curse, probably Flammability[Check spoiler]
Will also require Alternate Quality on Frenzy to take out GMP to replace it with Flammability

- A Chin Sol + 2nd Quiver weapon swap setup
Having higher reliable crits would make Chin Sol's slow attack speed more
forgiving, but I haven't bothered to find a similar 2nd quiver yet.

- An amazing Opal Ring for my 2nd ring slot
I'll need one with similar resists to my Topaz Ring and/or risk rebalancing
my resistances again.

But I'm probably done with the build. As it is, it can already handle all content in the game within seconds, so I don't see much point upgrading it's damage any further. It's been an amazing build throughout. I hope some of these tweaks are helpful to you guys!

EDIT:
Spoiler

Bought a chest with additional curse and attack crit and 100+ life for 3 ex instead, way cheaper than awakened Hextouch.

Thanks for sharing your detailed take/ideas on the build, some nice ideas there!

4K Life is definitely not for everyone! Previously between 3.9-3.10, there is actually a section in my guide on a Triple Curse setup for the build though I removed it after 3.10 as it has about 5k or less life and I thought that it is not really feasible/practical these days with that life pool.

Now that I think of it again, that section probably is perfect for players like you ;)

I won't be surprise if someone decides to push the build higher with a Level 5 Awaken Hextouch(and chest with +1 curse) for a Triple Curse Setup with your take :)

Cheers
