[3.4] The DarkRunner - 1HP "pacifist" build with damage immune option

Do you know if it's a bug that you can tank 5k stacks? I assumed 5k stacks would be doing 2500% of HP even at max dark res, which would be 2500 damager per second, exceeding our flat regen.

I honestly was thinking about it and it's right what you are saying. On the other side, I personally do not know (and I'm not sure if it's something pubblicly known) how DoT and regen are actually calculated and applied in this game.
There's definitly something wrong at first glance, but it might make sense having access to the code. It makes even less sense when you start using MoM; without MoM I was able to survive up to something like 2.5-3k stacks, while using it I'm able to reach 5000 stacks, which obviously doesn't seem correct.
When you are dealing with really small time frames, things get very messy in this game; for example any item with an internal CD (Mjolner, PP, Cospri's) has serious problem related to their proc rate, which is impossible to achieve under most circumstances (e.g. they have 0.25s of CD, but you cannot proc them 4 times/sec even if you have precisely 4 attacks/sec). It's also iconic the whole "on full life" problem related to degen skills (blood rage, RF), which has been completely bugged for most of POE history and got fixed pretty recently (and we do not know if they actually fixed the underlying problem or they just found a workaround for few specific istances).

In the end, yes.. There's something wrong, but I'm not sure whether they are actually able to fix the problem, without massive time/coding investments (Mjolner is a very old item, PP is one of the most used unique and they are very aware of this problem, but they haven't been fixed yet as far as I know). Even then, we should be able to sustain 1500+ stacks, which is more then enough to farm the darkness without any problem.

Thank you for the reply, very interesting to know. Any chance you could ss your regen ?
Is there any possible way to make an HC-viable variant? As in, you're able to reliably tank 1 hit if you mess up somehow while still being able to stay in the darkness forever?
The monsters seem to not ignore me as much as they should, assuming I have all the gear and the tree filled out (9 extra points) what should I be looking into more?
i still have to gather the sulphites to run the delve cart to explore the darkness for loots right?

That's strange, as long as you are moving you are essentialy invisible to monsters. When you stop to get the loot they start noticing you, but being fast and using the blind flask should help in those instances. You should see in the video I provided how the gameplay works.

You need another character which gathers the sulphite and does all the normal stuff, then you use this character to move around wherever you want in the darkneas, starting from the checkpoints you obtained with the first one (this will be possibile as soon as they deploy the patch in which the delve progress are shared). Anyway with this character you need no sulphite whatsoever, you totally ignore the cart mechanic.

I realised this calculation was wrong, at 5k stacks, we take

5000x0.5% of HP = 2500% of HP

2500% x 1 HP = 25

Much lower than the 2500 previously calculated. Not sure if this means we can drop a lot of our expensive regen gear, haven't got a character to test it yet ):

That does make sense in theory, but it's totally not reflected in practice. As said above, with the same setup without MoM I wasn't even able to sustain 3k stacks.
I can try some additional test when I get back home this evening.
