Corrupted Essence is the key word there, my friend! There are only 4 corrupted essences; Hysteria, Delirium, Horror and Insanity, none of which gives %chaos damage, that would be Essence of Envy.

Delirium does give 40% damage with poisons though.

Also, more notes for you Damage on Full life people out there! Summon Holy Relic works really well with toxic rain, at skill level 21 it gives me ~3% life regen per second, nothing to write home about, but certainly enough to constantly top you off, and because the regen is greater than Coralito's degen, that guarantees full life at all time (if you use Coralito).

Holy Relic is garbage tbh. Ran with it for a while and it dies all the time. It does not heal itself, so it's useless.

Aww, I haven't had that issue personally, never actually saw it take any damage.
I am looking to understand this skill. I have a quill rain (which seems to be the better choice).

If i want to scale DOT damage (which i understand to mean the damage the pods do after they land and before they explode), then Added Chaos Damage does much less than Efficacy for example or Increased Duration.

If i want to scale the explosion damage (which can poison) then will added chaos damage become useful? Is it added to the damage of explosions? Will it help with essence sap and return more mana? It will also increase the damage of poisons which i apply anyway because i use Herald of Agony for now.


I am currently using a different Setup instead of the wither totem I use:
Ball Lightning + Poison Support + GMP + CWDT lvl1

This gives insane QOL to stacks. The more enemies there are, the better it works. If you can find an item with slower projectiles on it, it must be a dream.

Feels much better as a wither totem as you get an easy push for your crawler.

Edit: Even without the poison gem we poison with around 83% so might try slower projectiles as gem.

yes you have it right.
the pods before they explode do DoT dmg which is listed on its gem. DoT does not hit.
but when the pods explode they do hit, so its based off your weapon and can apply all on hit effects including leech and poison.
added chaos is used on the quill rain to give a better base damage so that your poison actually scales and does damage.

for max DPS with toxic rain im pretty sure this build is best, mixing in both DoT and poison damage with a quill rain.

I very know that. But I am having troubles to ever get any stacks, except for bosses, so the crawler almost never is active. With this setup the crawler is out as soon as ANYTHING happens and goes nuts.

While test mapping this also worked stronger against bosses than plain playing with wither totem. Can't say anything about big maps/bosses yet but for now this is stronger then wither.

You are doing it wrong i guess. Invest into chance to poison on the tree and get Coralito. This way it's easy to get 100% chance to poison. With this and Thief's Torment you will NEVER have less than 40 stacks on bosses :)

I would like to report in how my Crit Setup Works for This Toxic Rain, but after blowing a Million Fuse and not even finding a 5L, i could only Talk about 4 Link Setups, and thats absolutely useless and Boring, so i might aswell just not.

Also, when u guys talk about Mana Problems, do u talk about Clearing in Generel, or only at BossFights (Single Targets)? if the Former is the Case, why is noone Considering the Boot Enchantment to Mana Leech? I have it, and it works wonderful. Might not work on absolute Single Target Bosses though, unless u bring in the Good Old Writhing Jar :-)
