Because you only get Virulence stacks when YOU poison enemies, NOT your Vaal Double Strike doubles or your minions or anything else.
The boots setup is not to keep your Virulence stacks high(you do that easily yourself), but to add a lot of extra dmg from Withering Touch and just the 4 doubles themselves attacking vs mobs/bosses with a lot of hp.

Hi, I just crafted these two claws. Could anyone tell me if they are better than wasp nest, as they have no attack speed? Also, how much are they worth (couldn't find any like these on poe trade)? Thanks

You definitely want attack speed on weapons, so you can try to annul a suffix open there (:

in POB wasp nest shows far more damage. Is POB not including the stats into the poison calculation?

As I stated in a previous post the 60% poison does not show up in PoB. You need to manually replace it with this exactly "60% more Damage with Poison". Otherwise, PoB is showing you the dps WITHOUT that 60% more modifier.

The claw with despair is redundant with witchfire brew so you I would reroll it or try to sell it.

The second claw is good but attack speed is mandatory. Viper strike scales with poison stacks on enemies. The aoe clear of the build relies on the spread to multiply those stacks causing an exploding cascade which is cleaned up by the agony crawler. Against bosses it is even more important because you won't have 100% uptime on dps, so getting more stacks in will result in more damage while you dodge.

In fact this is the reasoning for the vaal double strike (a guess). Withering touch is a huge dps increase but they also load up a ton of free poison while beating on the enemy. Viper strike doesn't care where the poison comes from only that it is there. This results in a massive dps spike while they are up.

Hi ! Good job for that build I am gonna try. One question (I didn't looked at the oldest posts so maybe you already answeared to it), with the new pathfinder ascendancy : +50% area with chaos skills, can we take another gem than the melee splash ?

Viper strike has no inherent splash. This is why we need melee splash. Not only does it give everyone some poison to share with their friends but it also generates virulence even faster meaning one or two taps per pack will keep your herald of agony at max stacks while clearing!

In other words, the splash for chaos skills only affects skills that already have splash, viper strike is not one of those skills :<.
