I ask this becouse on PoE "is the enemy shocked" isnt active...

I think I would go with the wither totem because it increases the single target a lot and the cwdt*molten shell setup is not that important. Mathil made a Magma Orb char with assasin so I would say yes... but he did go for crit based version.

I think you can farm Uberlab but there are definitly better builds out there for that.

I leveled it as self-cast but I guess with totems it is a bit easier. Some people like the totem playstyle and some don't... so just go with what you prefer.

Yes of course this build can shock... the problem with PoB is just that you cannot scale shock (always 50%). That is the reason I did not check it... with elementalist you will always shock between 20 and 50%.

Since Scorching Ray is "replaced" by Wither as a better alternative, is it still recommended to go for the totem path as a leveling option?

It would not matter for leveling because if want to level with totem you link the spell totem with magma orb.

Is there a certain order in which ascendancies should be taken first?
