Syndicate uniques have a veiled craft that you can unveil with Jun. You can't recraft them though, and never scour the craft because you can't put one back on (tested it in 3.6...).

The trigger on focus helmet craft is interesting because it will trigger everything. However, it's wasted on Diadem because you really want to put your auras there because of the 20% reduced mana reserve that's why the MoM/EB build can run 6 auras compared to 3 for the basic build.

I'm going to update the levelling guide this weekend, though, because 3.8 made many parts of it outdated.

It's quite easy to answer.
If you take out the weakest gem in your 6L, you might lose '35% more damage'.
Adding Empower 4 gives you +3 spectre levels, so say 83 -> 86.
Each spectre level is 4.5% more damage, for an aggregate of 19% more (83 vs 86).
So you actually have a net loss of 16%.

The only time it would be useful to keep is if it takes you from 5 spectre to 6.

Sell it to Zombiemancer to pay for upgrades.

Arma Brand can be kept at level 1, so is cheap to cast. It is also immortal. It can only hit a small number of monsters. It can be linked to Curse on Hit if you want to use a curse as well.

Holy Flame Totem needs to be level 20 because all totems have hp and a low level totem will die quickly. However, it has a large range and can hit many monsters. It also gives a 6% heal and curse immunity. It cannot be linked with Curse on Hit.

Both can proc EE.

It's really down to personal choice which one you use.

I think 5L Pledge is about the same as 6L chest (ignore PoB numbers).

Conductivity/CoH was part of the 3.7 build. You can definitely use it if you feel that you need more damage.

People also ran dual curse in 3.6/3.7, but we found that the extra damage wasn't useful for anything more than showing off PoB numbers and build for defense was more useful.

I'm still testing/considering them:

Wrath aura gives more consistency because the spectres get the boost when they stand within the aura (and the aura is quite large). It's 21% more lightning + increased effect from Generosity. However, it costs 50% mana to reserve.

Skitterbots are somewhat less reliable because they apply non-hit shock in a medium sized radius around them. So if they are standing next to a monsters, it will have a 20% more damage take debuff. You can see the effect in action because the monsters will also be chilled. Skitterbots also have increased effect. It only costs 35% mana reserve.

I think Skitterbots might be a better option than Wrath.


RVAs will give you about half the DPS.

I assumed the same thing, but I didn't push for added phys damage because it's a flat added. Something like AG with Dying breath gives 18% increased damage and 18% increase aura effect. You can also slap on a -9% lightning res helmet on the AG. That will give a bigger boost than 2 carrions, I think.

But for SSF, your idea might be better.

I do want to add SSF info to the guide, so I'll be interested in your continued feedback.

1: SDs seem to rarely use their other skills and use their lightning whip the majority of the time. This is what makes them better than every other whip spectre.

2: Convocation tooltip will show you the correct cooldown. What you will find is that SDs will perform progressively worse the faster you can run because they use pbaoe.

If you care more about clear speed than boss killing, then Lightning RVAs are better. They shoot a projectile that flies faster than a fireball (SG/GFR). You pay for this in damage, though. They have about 50% of SD's DPS.

I don't recommend doing a spectre split because you really want GMP for faster clear, but GMP doesn't give any benefit to SDs.

3: It can give a significant boost, but you can completely skip it. You'll notice it the most in delve because of the monster density. It's not uncommon to see the spectre grow to 2-3x its normal size.

4: If you like shield charge, go for it.

The Pledge of Hand Life/VMS might be good for HC. Definitely use Kaom's heart. I think it should reach 9.5k HP and you get Molten Shell and Vaal Molten Shell.

I haven't tested in HC though, so I can't promise anything!
