i tried SG in a T14 map. Strange thing about those is, they react way smoother at enemies. With FE i really had the issue that they where just standing there. Might be, because they where melee and the pathing is not the best (demand melee minion buff)

I'm wondering, does the implicit or mod on a weapon "damage penetrates X% of elemetal resistance" work for minions?

Since Fire-Eaters have been stealth nerfed, I'll re-write the spectre section with how to use the build with different spectres. It should be fairly simple to swap between them as the gear won't change much for a standard build. You can even maintain the 5B + 1G setup. If you want to specialise, eg. Magritte's version, you'll need some major modifications/expensive gear.
It'll take some time to write it up nicely, so here's the basics of it. I'll focus on Fire-Eaters, Solar Guards & Frost Sentinels. Fire-Eater: Fire spell, melee range: old Incinerate. No cast delay. In-built LMP. High APS. Because they cast from melee range, they can kill anything with proximity shields. They function well in small indoor maps because you can send them into the room with Storm Brand while you wait outside. They only use one spell, so there is no delay for spell switching. Links: Can substitute Elemental Focus for Phantasms, if you need more coverage in maps. Solar Guard: Fire spell, longe range: fireball. Fire spell, longe range: special beam. Cast delay*. Low APS. Because they are a pure ranged caster, they can have problems with shielded monsters and indoor maps (they will shoot from where they stand). They can have a long cast delay because they will try to shoot their special beam first, which has a long cast time, then switch to fireballs. Links: Frost Sentinels: Cold spell, long range: Ice Spear Can freeze. Low APS. 7% base crit. Ice Spears are bright white and clutter the screen** Frost Sentinels cycle through different ice spears: multi-spear and a splitter spear. As a cold spell caster, their attacks will chill and can freeze. Good for map clearing but the damage is noticably lower than SGs and FEs. They have a 7% base crit, which takes advantage of Victario's Charity (power charge on kill).
