But, real world scenarios for the vast majority of players is quite different, mostly for currency limitations or player knowledge. Kay is an advanced necro player. We often run rippy maps and will simply die by surprise dps spikes that you will not even know where came from, if we use this diadem and cluster jewels approach.

So the below suggestions will be mostly aimed at your request for more tankiness and damage. Tankiness for me, in this league especially, is way better than min maxing tooltip dps.

-You are not using animate guardian so I advise that to be your next top priority. You will not go too far without animate guardian so waste a little time learning about it, and setting it up.

- You dont need a 6link animate guardian to make him tanky.

- Wath this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A5GQBhmirc4 and check the most expensive variant. It is something that if you cant afford right now, should be your next goal. Believe me, with the 90k life and regen of 18k life per second, the guardian is unkilable, Nothing ever touches it. You just put it in your helmet that may contain ONLY minion life of 18 or more, so pretty cheap. Check my gear in my profile for reference. I'm now at lvl 99 and I practically dont die unless to really crazy stuff.

- If you try to go for a helmet that is worth around 100ex which is damage based, pseudo 7link or 6link for spectres, it will be a freaking waste of cash, because first, minion damage is not too useful for S.O. and hypothermia also not super useful, because you will be casting frost bomb manually to destroy the boss cold res, and the guardian will be debuffing the boss with elemental weakness too.
Another bonus that these 100ex helmets do have is minion life, which is a waste too, for spectres. Believe me , they will not die unless you run elemental reflect maps without using pantheon for reduced reflect damage.

- The top setup i found for operatives which is versatile (map and boss) without having to swap gem is spectre> spell echo > feeding frenzy > elem damage with attacks > volley > vicious proj. Amazing clear speed and nice boss kill speed while you can focus on a more defensive tree.

- like another fellow suggested above, get rid of the proxy ring and put bonechill on the skitterbots. Armagedon brand and frost bomb being casted manually will make you melt bosses pretty fast while not instantly.

-if you can, get 3 minimum endurance charges and get the block nodes on the tree and Glancing blows notable. Blocking is really good and preferrably you dont wanna rely on a flask for blocking because you can get killed instantly most of the times without knowing where it come from, before you can use a flask. So preferrably, for safe builds, go with shield passives. This will make you incredibly durable, kind of a game changer actually. You can have +2 on shield and +1 in one ring or +1 in shield, ring and ring. It is that cool! Also, you can run chaos golem on top of all that for an extra 5% reduced damage which works pretty nicely with the tankiness synergy.

-upgrade your amulet for one containing +1 to all intel skills, it is a cool little bonus!
