My vote goes to the RS as I like cold damage but havent been playing this long enough to really answer that question sorry.

Just make sure you switch the gems in your body piece accordingly to fit what spectre you end up using.

Yes I made a spectre bank following kays video guide, was quick and easy to setup and have saved me a bunch of time when I inevitably mess up and remove a gem too much so they all go away :D

could anyone explain to me how the thread of hope works in this build, doing the pure spactre version, but i simply cannot figure out what it's purpose is

Forgive me if this has been asked previously. There are some 1500 pages to sort through. I'm doing pure spec build, and the pob is different than the gear listed on page 1 for gem links.

What one is up-to-date for me to use?

Does the 20% increase minion maximum life on the Raise Zombie gem works for my spectres ? because it's not taken into account in PoB ...

I'm trying to do the Chimera challenge on a pure spectre Redemption Sentry build. To keep the guy alive, I wear Speaker's Wreath and Southbound. To prevent freezes (and ignites, but they have no fire damage anyway), I added Elemental Focus to both spectres and Animated Guardian, and dropped Holy Flame Totem. I swapped Desecrate for Unearth to prevent DoT. I've checked and Culling Strike (from Kingmaker) doesn't override the no-kill mod.
I also dropped Haste (too much reservation) and switched from Blood Offering to Bone (to keep myself alive too), but that shouldn't matter here.
Yet he still dies and I have no idea why. What am I missing?

The way I did it was to make sure to have monster life mod on map. Once you're about to fight the boss, de-summon all your spectre by clicking the linked armor. Desecrate and summon 1 random mob as a spectre (I got the Dreadwheel wheel skeleton). He did super small damage so I was able to run in and out into a lot of smoke when he is in hiding phase. You can place a portal nearby if you want to refresh pots. Once you think you ran into 25 smokes maybe 5 minutes or so summon more spectres to kill him off.

Thanks, I'll do that if I need to, but I've come up with a zanier plan now.

Enter with regular setup and beat him down however low he needs to be before he starts doing unlimited smoke phases.
Go to hideout and switch to ZDPS setup: Brutality + Phys to Lightning.
Go back and catch some smokes while the spectres are ineffectually poking him.
Once enough smokes were caught, go to hideout and switch to regular setup.
Finish him.

It sounds like you are doing everything correct.

I have done the challenge a few times with Speakers Wreath. But I used Redemption Knight and Crushclaw (actualyl I don't use RS).

Do you have added fire damage on ghastly eye jewel?

Maybe switch to RK or PCC?
