Again thanks for your great guides Kay, I am now running the spider build on a new char it is so much fun after sort of perfecting the pure spectre build.

Just wanted to say that I was wondering how to do Sirius on this, as he has some big phase pauses, and more than 2, so how do my writhing Jar have enough as it is only 2 times I can spawn the larvaes.

But I solved it by using a harvest craft like this:

Just if anyone else was wondering how to go about spawning spiders before the last phase.

I have 2 of them so enough for a few times :>

Wow! I didn't use the flask seeds because I thought they are rubbish :P That's really useful craft actually!

Oh btw I'm working on new S&S build with more tanky focus! I am doing theorycraft on standard and I tested with Delve 707 -> 710 with 2x damage mod. It was the horrible pertified forest and I even run into the wrong way many times :D

That sounds wonderful, I only tried the S&S build briefly in Delve yet, but plan to do more, it seems very good there.

But there is still the issue of using AG below D 500 right? you mentioned that somewhere, not that it is really an issue for me yet, I only got to like 160.

Btw. I also really enjoy "on kill" effects with the spider build.
Got a jewel with Onslaught, and these boots:


Like 100% uptime on endurance charges, and it was just a lucky hit, not even intentional ;) But it really works great.

Edit: and yes, I did re-roll the speed from "crafted 24%" ugh, but I will try again and hope for better :)

About Animate Guardian:

If you are using any clusters in your build, I would highly suggest to NOT use Animate Guardian. When switching to clusters, the first passives to get removed are usually the minion life and regeneration nodes, and that's fine, cause Redemption Sentries have huge life pool and don't really need regen (they use life leech for sustain). But that means that your AG is highly compromised.

In any case, you don't need it. I would suggest using Stone Golem for the extra life regen (or chaos golem for phys reduction is nice too).

Also, I still use Zombies, even in the "pure" spectre build. Zombies are great for a meat shield while mapping, and they also proc feeding frenzy and elemental exposure from Elemental Army support. They die sometimes, but they are easy to respawn. They also help against proximity shield mobs since RS are ranged and don't get inside the proximity shields.

I use this link setup: 1R3B
Stone Golem - Zombies - Feeding Frenzy - Elemental Army

Works great and you don't have to worry about AG anymore.

Well, the AG only has like 10K lower HP without the minion life nodes, and with the gear I have ready for my S&S AG, he will get more than 12% life regen, enough to sustain him I think.

You can do it with zombies and golem, but you kind of miss the benefits with Culling strike and the Crit multi and Fortify, which is kind of OP along with the clusters.

I am not done crafting my clusters yet, but only miss 1 medium, and need to add 1 crit mod to my large, then I am done ;)

Also it sounds like you are not running spiders, but another variant.

Redemption Sentry is not a good 'low level' spectre because it has low APS (about 1 attack per second!). So sometimes you will like 0 DPS. You need good level gear to make it feel good.

If you have problems with Slave Driver, I recommend try another lightning spell spectre. I made some videos for them:

About gear, you can make boots yourself with bound fossil. Or buy Bones of Ullr for 1c. Then you only need +1 wand or +1 amulet. Don't get two. I recommend amulet.

Pure Spectres is full DPS mode, but you can keep Mistress + Bone Offering actually. DPS will feel a little better than starter if you use no clusters. But I recommend 1 cluster set to get best balance of damage and tanky.

Skitterbot chill is just a 10% slow, so you can get rid of it I think. But if you prefer more defense, you can change right to other side and put Temp Chains! It will stack with chill actually :D

I like Stone Golem instead of AG.

Kay, thx so much for the reply. Not only do you do a wonderful job in creating your builds and supporting them, you also take the time to respond!

I assume that in your response above on gear, that I have a Lvl 21 Raise Spectre gem, otherwise I would need all three items in order to get to Lvl 25?

Is the only reason that we use the Large Cluster with +12% Lightning is to be able to get Overshock on it? The RS Pure Spectre build doesn't use lightning damage, does it?
If you do have the enduring composure small cluster jewel, which would provide the most tankiness?

1. 3 Endurance charges + 4 life nodes (~4.5% each)
2. 4 Endurance charges + 2 life nodes (~5% each)
3. 5 endurance charges

(Currently at about 5.8k life + 1k ES (MoM). Each node seems to add around 100 life)

I experimented a little with this, and conclusion was that enduring composure is better than 2 life nodes of 4/5%.
Also on the jewel there will be 1 +4% node, so you only loose 1 if you have the slot free for it that is.

I also tried sacrificing a few more points to get 4 and 5 endurance charges with longer duration, that on the other hand did not feel as great.
It depends a little bit on your play style, I was zooming through mobs and using a shaper shield with 5% HP on block along with Glancing Blows, witch seemed like a real good combo with enduring composure.
Absolutely loving this build!

Ive uploaded a short video to showcase the build for others to see how fun this is, but also to ask if someone can help me.
Around the one minute mark, I lose all my spiders, and then it seems to be quite delayed before they all spawn again. This happens sometimes once a map and I don't know what is causing it.
Also my spectres or animate guardian somehow are getting killing blows even though there are no ignited enemies? (Due to the lack of fire damage)

Hey guys my buddy built the S&S variant of the build and was wondering if I could ask a couple questions for him.

1. How do you guys keep spiders from despawning when zoning into the arena area for map bosses?

2. Is Writhing Jar a mandatory flask for mapping to summon spiders for bosses or is WJ just for endgame specialized area bosses?

3. Since the build has no defensive layer options like Bone Offering, how could he get tanker so he doesn't get one shot? He's following the PoB to the tee and is level 90 atm using the single cluster set up.
