To be clear for new players, Corrupting Blood and Bleed aren't the same thing.
CB is deadlier, so probably smarter to take that if you had to choose.

However, bleeding damage you CAN get away with, I still wouldn't risk it!

I've never had an issue with bleed in this game. I can't think of any mechanic outside of uber lab where bleed does any meaningful damage. Worst case scenario I can stand still to deal with a bleed.
I find it strange the OP of this build didn't use Barrage, seeing how it dumps all 5 Voidcharges at once, and Tornado shot doesn't. There is simply no reason to use Tornado Shot over Barrage for single target.

Well, a bunch of reasons.

A) Back when I first designed the build over a year ago, Voidfletcher didn't work that way with barrage. Until the 3.5 changes, Void Shot had a cooldown on being triggered (.5 seconds), so regardless of what skill you used you would only trigger one charge at a time.

B) In addition to Voidfletcher not working that way pre-3.5, there was the matter of Voidshot being a lower proportion of my single-target damage ... back then it was roughly 30% of the dps it has now, the 3.5 buffs ramped it up a lot. It was not capable of taking out top-tier content even when triggering it with default attacks like it is now, so the triggering skill was supplying a much higher proportion of my dps. Barrage is good for single-target dps, but not great with Far Shot, which i much prefer over pointblank. Tshot works with either, and it's still useful for clearing (a lot of times i mix ice shot and tshot when clearing, ice shot for trash and maintaining mirage archer and tshot to take out packs containing rares, that kinda thing).

C) Even once 3.5 hit, the patch notes actually said the cooldown was reduced to .25 seconds, but in game it was taken off completely (which is why it does work like that with barrage now). As the mechanic in game differed from what the patch notes said, I assumed it was a bug that it had no cooldown, and therefore using barrage like that would be to exploit a bug. Not a fan of doing that.

D) And now, I've just recently I've spoken to a GGG dev and they've said it is the patch notes that are incorrect, and that it is intended to have no cd and the barrage interaction is intended. Frankly, I don't buy at all that it is truly 'intended' (at least the barrage interaction), and it's more probably an accident but they're not gonna bother changing it, so it's more of 'intended via apathy' if you will. While I don't mind the cd being dropped, I still find the barrage interaction to be cheesy and exploitative, so I personally don't use it.

Hi Shppy,

Here's the thing in my mind; Point Blank is good for when you're surrounded, or other wise encroached on be it mobs or a rare. Far Shot is good when you're at a distance. Face it, ideally you always want to be far back, but it just doesn't work out that way in practice.

So I have point blank taken, while trying to stay at range. It's win win. My limited research tells me this is a correct take on the matter, as taking Point Blank is always a net damage gain.

I understand your view on Barrage I guess but I don't see it as cheese, and if they don't patch it, it's fair game. I'm not going to do inferior single target burst dps just cuz. Might as well Call Hyrri's Ire cheese and not use it. Far too much flat damage on dat! lol

Just my thoughts. I havnt played a bower in a while. Loving this quiver :P

Hey I'm just reading the post. Not my fault. You said "I've never had an issue with bleed in this game. I can't think of any mechanic outside of uber lab where bleed does any meaningful damage" I mean...the statement doesn't imply at all that there is previous context. We wouldn't have this back and forth if you simply added the words outside of corrupted blood.

i mean, you could start off with iceshot/tshot like i use in this build, but voidfletcher isn't gonna be available for a while, especially at a reasonable price.
