[3.4] Teleports Behind You - Poet's Pen Lightning Warp & Arc, MF / Facetank t16 / Shaper / U. Elder
swapped to this today from bv
very fun build :D |
|
Played this with top endgame gear (i mean 2ex jewels, 21 gems and such) this build isnt that good. I mean its super fan and clears t16 under minute but struggles with bosses.
Play this if you want mapper. Guardians are doable, but not comfortable if you run the right maps (hard ones for returns and so). If you want boss killer go look for something else. There are builds that can do uber elder on few ex budget. But for maps this is godlike. |

For mapping and everything till T16 this is the best build for the budget by far. Killed Shaper today with about 3 deaths. That's pretty good for me with my ~180 avg ping I just cant dodge certain things fast enough. I am also hopeless at dodging so that doesn't help either.
If the goal is Shaper this is definitely not a problem at all with this build. In fact almost all the guardians ( I have done all guardians deathless) and Shaper can be done deathless with this build. Chimera can be tricky during the smoke/dodge phase (adds are a complete joke). You can range Kill Minotaur and Phoenix very easily (flame dash is much better now so use flame dash with attack in place to dash from corner to the other easily), for Hydra just stand on top/behind her and finish her (use flame dash to go behind her). For Shaper, only DPS during the beam/minion phase and dodge things. There is plenty of DPS till kill Shaper so dont make a mess of things by trying to DPS while dodging the yellow balls and stuff. Link Culling strike with HoT for cheezy cull and ditch Frenzy altogether. (If you die to yellow balls you basically suck like me :-) Stop panicking and stop DPSing when Shaper is not in beam phase. Just run around till the yellow ball phase is over and then go to town on him flasks and all ) Also I am not using anything expensive for jewels/gems. 20/20 gems, random 20/30c/self crafted jewels and only lvl 93 (missing final jewel socket) Last edited by spacenoxx#5671 on Sep 12, 2018, 1:26:58 PM

Yeah to say this build isn't good because it is difficult to kill the hardest bosses in the game really isn't the best metric. It is fun and has amazing clear speed. With enough investment and skill it is possible to do all content.

|
They removed the Helment Enchant:
Helmet - Reduced Ball Lightning Projectile Speed which is the best enchant now? |
|
A wrath Aul's offering would probably be dope af here. Too bad there's like 6 of them in existence lol.
|
|
I think as enchant the best now is Arc Damage because Arc do more damage in single target than Ball of Lightning and Arc Enchant help in clear speed.
Also I thought I did not raise the lightning resistance to the maximum by gear but with Vassel of Vinktard (More Leech, Res, Ele Penetration) because there isnt end game boss that do tons of lightning damage and we have Mind of the Council that cover us on Lightning Damage. I've killed Shaper at least 5-6 times and Uber Elder 3 times with this build, using a slight variation.
I changed a couple of things in this build, mainly for delving. I'm using a Call of the Brotherhood to make sure I can reliably freeze/chill/shatter enemies while delving (no icicles from wetas <3). This also means I'm no longer using lightning penetration gems, and instead using controlled destruction. I'm also using a Herald of Ice. Obviously this comes at the cost of reserving more mana, which means my unreserved mana isn't as high as it should be (I'm currently working on that, but not sure how to go about it, since I would lose a lot of dps from Jewels). Here is my current gear: My frenzy APS is 3.58 APS with full frenzy charges, which seems good enough not to skip casts. I might rework this a bit to get closer to 3.72-3.85. I have a few optimisations I'm looking at, mainly enchants (penetration, added lightning if not killed), lvl 21/20 ball lightning (none exist on poe.trade ever?!), jewels? abyss jewel? Possibly faster attack gloves? CDR boots? Thanks for the build guide, it was really awesome in helping me get this build up and running. Here is my pastebin if you're interested: https://pastebin.com/LUgk5CKV Any optimisation ideas, tips or tricks would be much appreciated! Last edited by Shadroz#4463 on Sep 13, 2018, 10:36:57 AM

Hi, small question for Shadroz and Dariidar : how do you deal with elemental resists with so many uniques ? Shadroz, I took a look at your passive and items, can't add up to 135 per res. Dariidar, I suppose the gems add up to the items.
Love the build (not for epileptic people though), but the res is a real problem (I have them, I just can't get Choir of the storm or Berek's grip without utterly messing them). |

" I did struggle initially with capping my resistances. You need really good rares with a lot of res on them. I also have 11 fire and cold res on my abyss jewel in my stygian vise. Also Alira gives resistances. It definitely makes gearing this character quite tough but once you can afford decent rares with high resistances you should be good. Berek's is a huge quality of life and definitely needed. Choir of the Storm is what pushed my boss dps over the edge into an acceptable area. Granted this build doesn't have the DPS of Blade Vortex or Blade Flurry, but it's fun to play and something different. I struggled against Aul last night and eventually had to pay for a carry service, as the build even with 7k ehp, I was getting one shot by one of his abilities, granted it was in a 30% increased damage and Onslaught area. Considering I've killed Uber Elder 5 times with this build (never deathless), it's definitely got adequate dps and survivability, but for the really really hard stuff, I wouldn't recommend this build as it seems there is definitely a cap on survivability and damage.
