Can someone explain to me why OP says it is better to have no ascendancies? It seems like there are no drawbacks to going Elementalist.

Hey thank you for this build, i started play PoE on Harbringer League, and after the league end, i take a break and decide to play again this league. I use this build as a league starter (with Enki's guide as a help too) and who knows i got lucky, 2 ex drop early! At act 6 and 7, so i can have Poet's early. This build is so much fun.

Well because i still lack of knowledge on PoE, can i ask something about CWDT, on this guide it use flame dash and immortal call, can we replace flame dash or link CWDT with Vaal Aura like Vaal Haste? Can it work?

And for anyone use this build do you guys prefer Arc (Corrupted) +1 level, or Vaal Arc?

is inpulsa BiS for this build? i'm thinking of changing it to Kaom's heart or something. On the weapon swap, can i change arc with glacial cascade? or arc+ball lightning is more desirable?

- Flame Dash is required for single target where you don't have Lightning Warp at your disposal.
- Vaal skills can't be triggered via CWDT (or any other method besides manually).
- Both CWDT and IC remain at lvl 1. Flame Dash doesn't actually have to be linked to them, since you use Flame Dash manually. It's only socketed in the same item because of socket slots.

- Damage-wise, due to the explosions, Inpulsa is BiS by far for map clearing, and for single target due to the increased shock effect and increased damage after shocking an enemy.
- You can't replace Arc with anything, especially not with a non-lightning spell, since the whole build is based on lightning damage.

Blast Radius the the area nodes around it aren't in the final skill tree so you'll respec out of them at some point. There is still the one key node (Amplify) that is kept in the final tree.

AoE does help with Ball Lightning. The wider the AoE, the more times the BL can hit. So with Slower Projectiles, a wider AoE allows a single BL to hit the same target more often and more times per cast.

You have a different setup of gems on your chest (on cast crtical strike and shock nova). Is it better than addictionnal accuracy and culling strike?

I think this setup is fully viable, but with a few conditions:
- 6 Link Inpulsa, so you can actually fit both CoC and Shock Nova, since the basic 4 links of Barrage > GMP > Faster Attacks > LGoH should not be replaced with anything;
- Lightning Golem (to offset the attack speed loss from not running +20% quality Culling Strike);
- Both (or rather all 4) Pens being 12% attack speed;

He's also not running Frenzy at all, and has 2 lvl 4 Empowers for the single target setup, so there's that. :)

I'm just trying some different things out. I usually have Culling and Blind/Accuracy in those slots. I wanted to see how often CoC would proc Shock Nova and it actually does quite often, even while mapping. I may go back to the normal setup or maybe even change SN for something else. We'll see.

I'm also trying out not using Frenzy as I found that I didn't really use it much in game. I put Lightning Golem in there for the lost attack speed. I may try another CWDT setup instead of the curse but I'm not sure where I'll land. That's one of the great things about PoE - so many different combinations, slight tweaks, etc.

Once i get into maps, should i run barrage or frenzy? With what supports?
