Have tried the Queen's, then the Femurs now I have the above staff.

It certainly seems to do the trick even if the item level is low. Just noticed I need to max the quality so will do soon. Question is - worth 6 linking - or go with the Queen's

Femurs out of the question coz lag.

That staff is superb! Congrats.
I'd definitely 6 link because even though you can get better damage 2 handers (I have seen a +2 to minion gems and +135% increased minion damage staff), you're not going to get a better buff to minion life or better value out of empower than that staff (unless you are super heroic and corrupt it)

Level 21 zombies with level 4 empower in that thing would get about double the life and dps than level 20 ones in a normal 6 link, plus much greater chance to evade, and chance to hit.

The high end zombie builds can get 16 zombies running around, so would love that staff. Also, it'd be worth a lot to a rich golemancer, or SRS build.

I'd get zombies in there, then see if you can get 1K strength!

We have purity of elements and commander of darkness.
When levelling, if you are using uniques, get your resists from the passive tree
If you are only using a few uniques you can get resists from rares

For endgame, you can get enough resists from belt, rings, jewels which allow you to take pure life nodes from the tree, and still use all your desired uniques.

Always quality your active skill gems first. Skeletons and zombies for this build.

any skill gems not worth GCPing? Enfeeble? blasphemy? desecrate? increased duration is good to quality right?

Just read the gem description on the wiki, and see what quality adds.

since phase run adds move speed I'd get it sooner: https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Phase_Run
blasphemy gets more curse effect, so I'd also get it: https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Blasphemy_Support

Desecrate only gets cast speed so I'd never worry about it: https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Desecrate
