[3.9] Frostblades Assassin SSF Viable. 1M+ DPS w/ Budget gear! League starter! Insane Clear Speed
Hey buddy! Nice build!
What is the main difference between playing Assassin and Raider using Frost Blades? Trying to decide between them. Do you have problems with Single Target in your build? Thanks!
" Hey, Thanks! Glad you liked the build. Assassin beats raider in almost everything except movement speed, however seeing as we don't walk around (we use whirling blades), it has zero effect on us. So basically for assassin you get better damage, better single target, way more crit chance at a far lower point investment and a bit more life.
hey, great build do you think he could do farm lab ? I was looking for a good lab runner but I have a hard time deciding and I like Frostblade. Thank You |

What about single target? I played a char which used molten strike for bossing and frost blades for clearing?
What do you think about going deadeye?
" Single target is good. 1.1 Million single target with ruthelss subbed in. Deadeye is pretty trash in my opinion for frostblades. It just doesn't justify giving up loads of damage and free crit for just the ability to chain and get tailwind. " It could farm lab, however as the build only has 5.5k life with mediocre gear, you could get one hit if the mods are hard. Positioning is key with the build. I have never had to buy a uber lab run as this build.
Hey, I'm brand new to PoE, messed around with a Blade Flurry starter build I found, just to learn how the game works and some mechanics, and it worked well, but I want to do something fun now. I think I'm too casual to ever afford 2x Touch of Anguish in a League, so I converted your build to White Wind for even more fun.
I think I did a pretty good job on the conversion, but I lost about 200k DPS on Path of Building from your original. I picked up Point Blank, though, which I think might help for boss damage? Because I lose the gem slots in the second weapon, I moved Ice Golem into the place of Frost Bomb and I dropped Frost Bomb. Not sure if that was correct, but I thought Ice Golem was more important for the buff, and I like having it on CWDT for laziness anyway. I had 2 main questions I was hoping you'd be willing to help with: 1) Other than just dropping Double Strike and Frost Bomb from the build entirely, do you have any better advice on how to set up skill gems and links without the second weapon slot? 2) How are you getting Frenzy Charges with the build? I've looked through it a few times, but I'm not seeing any abilities or passives or anything that are granting Frenzy Charges, despite picking up 2-3 extra max charges. Really looking forward to trying the build out, thanks in advance for any advice you're able to provide.
" Hi. With the way your going about my build its going to be entirely different. You are not going to be able to get frenzy's unless you run blood rage, which as a no regen character is a little dicey (Our touch of anguish's give frenzies on kill). Touch of anguishs usually aren't expensive and as I said, they aren't needed until t10+. I highly recommend you just use the more cookie cutter version of the build and just use wasp nest until you can afford touch of angusishs. Point blank is pretty useless for our build as were scaling the initial hits and not the projectiles. Feel free to experiment with the cast when damage taken setup, that is entirely personal preference. Hopefully this doesn't come off as arrogant, that is not my intention. I am just trying to save you hours of frustration.
" Not arrogant at all, I really appreciate the reply. Thanks for the great advice. Just because I'm down the rabbit hole now, and I want to see if I can figure out a build that makes sense, I may try working in Cold Snap on my CWDT setup for Frenzy Charges. Or if all else fails just throw Frenzy into an unlinked slot somewhere. I'm going to take your advice to start with, though, and just do the base build for the League. Maybe experiment with the White Wind stuff on a second character if I have the time. Thanks again.
" Sounds good. Let me know how it works for ya'.
Hello!
First of all, thanks for posting your build - it looks rly nice! If it doesn‘t take too much time, could you tell me the stat priorities on rare items like amulet, rings and jewels? Thanks a lot! |
